View Full Version : BUZZR to start airing the Louie Anderson era of Family Feud
Didn't know where to put this, so please feel free to move if needed mods.
Yesterday, I saw this ad during Family Feud with either Ray Combs or Richard Dawson that promoted Card Sharks and Family Feud, both with different hosts.
That's when I saw that BUZZR now has the rights to the Louie Anderson era of Family Feud and perhaps another host (?) of Card Sharks.
Was there another host of Card Sharks, or was there only one?
Looks like Ray Combs will still be on in the afternoon for now, but Louie now comes first and then Richard.
snowpeck 10-30-2017, 12:18 PM That's the Bill Rafferty version of Card Sharks. They had been airing either the Jim Perry or Bob Eubanks version at that time.
MRPITT 10-30-2017, 12:44 PM My local affiliate that carries BUZZR, KCOP aired Rafferty and Anderson episodes for about a year so I am not surprised these shows are being added.

So I am assuming that's new to BUZZR?
So bummed I don't have a affiliate that carries BUZZR. All I get is MeTV, ASN, Bounce, Escape and Grit.

Too bad I don't get some of those channels.
Some thoughts.
Where is the '94-'95 Dawson version? That should've been next and Anderson should have been airing next year.
Hopefully the Richard Karn and John O'Hurley versions will be eventually coming. But please not the god-awful Steve Harvey version.

I'll gladly trade you Escape and Grit for BUZZR.

Nah. UM is on Escape (even though it's the Dennis Farina version).
And Grit I am not interested in, so I will keep my BUZZR.
FF with Louie starts right now!
tvfan25 10-30-2017, 06:08 PM I'll take any Family Feud except the Steve Harvey version. Absolutely awful!!!!

I was telling my dad about the Louie version of Family Feud, and he doesn't find him funny at all.
stevea 10-31-2017, 06:31 PM I've always liked the original, RD version. I'd trade Grit for BUZZR, also.

Although I wouldn't mind if they did, the GSN schedule would look a lot different if Harvey Feud left.

There certainly would be a lot of time slots to fill.

There were 4 total counting the awful 2001 version. Jim Perry, Bob Eubanks, Bill Rafferty, and Pat Bullard.
VisualSensation 11-02-2017, 08:39 AM The problem with Buzzr is that they only show about 10% of the episodes of any given show before starting a new cycle of the same episodes. It took me about 6 months to see every episode of every gameshow I like, and I have no reason to watch it anymore except to check in now and then to see if they've added any episodes (they never do).
MRPITT 11-02-2017, 11:53 AM Same with LAFF.
Laff shows every episode of a show while BUZZR shows a small percentage of each shows episodes so they are actually quite different.

I'm talking about how LAFF shows the same episodes before starting the same cycle again.
Some news regarding the Louie Anderson version.

Some more thoughts.
Louie sounds wicked gay in this (Won't be surprised if he really is LGBT)
The music sounds weird, like it's a different genre of something.
Overall, it's just eh for me.
Starting tomorrow, no more Louie Anderson. Returning to the slot will be Ray Combs.
Well that was rather quick and abrupt. Maybe some other station will pick it up for syndication. Weather it be local affiliates or US wide on OTA stations like Buzzr again. I'm still hoping MeTV will eventually air a gameshow or talk show.

Why was the Louie Anderson era pulled so soon? I don’t understand.
MRPITT 11-12-2017, 10:03 PM They did this before. Last year they rotated the Dawson era with Combs they did it every other week in that same time slot maybe thats what they are doing. I have a hard time watching the Louie version.

So Combs first and then Dawson?
MRPITT 11-13-2017, 12:54 PM I think The Dawson version was already airing in that spot when they started rotating it.
So, I guess Louie is back on BUZZR again, but in the afternoon slot this time.
Combs is now in the evening slot.
I wonder if this will be permanent or not.
I hope someone is recording these Anderson Era shows.
My guess is that it's going to be around for more than two weeks.
And Louie is off the schedule again.
I'm starting to think it's gonna be random airings from here on.

That’s what I’m thinking too.
Louie is back again in the evening slot where Combs used to be.
Frank Gannucci 01-13-2018, 10:28 PM I remember watching this version with Louie. I do remember during the end credits during the original airings, they did a split screen with Louie telling the audience to play Family Feud online on uproar.com.
Considersting that BUZZR shows the credits full screen, did BUZZR keep that ad in even if the game is no longer available? Editing it out would probably entail blowing up the credits screen and overdubbing as well.
Frank Gannucci 01-17-2018, 12:24 AM IN regards to my earlier post, to have a better idea of what I am talking about, I am directing to this video. Fast forward to 20:20

I also found out that the website that Louie advertises where you could play family feud online is no longer online. So I will see if I can edit my above post.
MRPITT 01-17-2018, 07:56 PM The episodes I have seen don't split Louie on the credits, one looked like it cut for a couple seconds so they may just be cutting that 5 seconds out.
And Louie is permanently off the schedule for good.
