View Full Version : Saturday Night Live’s David S. Pumpkins Halloween special was David S. Awful TMC 10-29-2017, 04:19 AM https://t.co/JL0Eo81foR https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DNSlA25VwAAbNIN.jpg robyrob 10-29-2017, 11:39 AM I watched it, but I didn't really "get it"; it's like it's its own "thing", and not making a whole lot of sense - well that's just "part of it". tlc38tlc38 10-29-2017, 12:27 PM Looked stupid to me so I didn't even bother with it. Anna Karenina 10-29-2017, 01:52 PM Not funny or clever in any way. Just some kind of bad joke that we are all supposed to find amusing for some reason. Tom Hanks, what were you thinking? opus 10-29-2017, 05:41 PM I saw it. I'll give it a B-. Not fantastic, not horrible. They should have tried for the kid crowd at an earlier hour, even if it originated from an SNL sketch. king of comedy 10-29-2017, 07:22 PM It looks really bad. I stopped watching SNL in the mid 80s and I never looked back. Anna Karenina 10-29-2017, 08:28 PM I saw it. I'll give it a B-. Not fantastic, not horrible. They should have tried for the kid crowd at an earlier hour, even if it originated from an SNL sketch. They should have tried to add some actual jokes and a plot as well. Chocolate Moose 10-30-2017, 12:14 PM It wasn't good at all. 70s show watcher 11-14-2017, 12:43 AM it was not very good robyrob 11-14-2017, 11:09 AM it seems to me that it wasn't terrible enough - I mean it was supposed to be bad; that was part of the joke. A very thin, over-stretched premise for a joke, that would've worked better in a sketch half as long as the one actually aired on SNL, but that was the whole point. I think with all this "SERIOUS DRAMATIC ACTOR" nonsense Tom Hanks forgot how to be funny; he hasn't done anything good since "Joe Vs The Volcano" - he needs to stop pretending to be some sort of Oscar-winning actor and go back to sniffing glue and putting vegetables in his pants. |
