What individual character types typically come together to interact well, in order to make a good sitcom?
Often it seems to me a sitcom works best when there's some characters who have power (in their mind, at least), some aspirational characters which are trying to get on in life. and who we might identify with most, and a few others which are there to be laughed at. Also, at times there's one really outrageous main character. Or it could be there's a 'straight man', and everyone else is crazy.
