Ever since I was little a holiday tradition my mother would do every week before Christmas is get my photo with Santa Claus at the mall in December and I have noticed for two years now that malls no longer have Santa Claus photos for children and I would like to know why this is? Is it because holiday events have become very expensive for malls to do or is it because malls went a different route and have started focusing on other holiday stuff rather than Santa Claus photos? Because when I go to the mall I've noticed that malls have now put mini skating rinks and have stands advertising gift wrapping and offer cookies and cocoa and I remember when every November through December Santa Claus was the center of attention of the malls and people would get their kids Santa Claus photos all the time but now I see it as a thing of the past. Another thing that I can't figure out that caused Santa Claus photos to disappear from malls today is why are Santa Claus photos so expensive to get for your kids? I remember when I used to get my Santa photos when I was little they used to be a dollar but now I've noticed that Santa Claus photos for kids are now $30 and now some malls have age limits on Santa Claus photos too and I can't figure that out either. I remember when Santa photos were considered family memories and people would put them on display every Christmas to show off their children growing up and now I see that a Christmas tradition for malls is now gone today
Have you noticed this every year now?

They do here. My daughter, niece and a group of their friends go every year. Their ages range from 17 to 19 and as far as I know they're going this year.

Hmm...
First...malls are dying throughout the nation due to internet shopping...
Second...you now have many people who have families that don't do the Santa Claus thing since they see him as real as Jesus!
Translation...they think BOTH are fairy tales...there was a Santa Claus...his real name was St. Nicholas! And... Jesus is real... he's Lord AND Savior!...
Now...I'll step-down from this...

One of the malls in my area quit having Santa Claus as part of their Christmas celebrations because it was too expensive to do and the Santa Claus photos were overpriced and so they ended it. And now in my area Santa Claus photos are really scarce to find and the only place that you can get Santa Claus photos is if Walmart has free Santa photos for your kids with sponsorship from Coca-Cola when they bring Santa Claus out to promote Walmart
Do you think malls should bring Santa Claus photos back and change the prices to a dollar or $10,99?

I read that the Macy's at 34th St. in NYC is now having to take reservations in order to meet Santa. First time they are doing this.
