it's been a hell of a year

And got them all before December. This has been a great complement to the many episodes of VHS transfers I've been watching for the past several years.

Oddly it's saying episode 3 is unavailable on the Canadian Prime.

As I predicted, 'Eagle' was left out, as were the 2 parental kidnapping cases. But it seems like only a handful of Lifetime segments are missing.

Now the BIG question is - can we hassle them for any missing segments for a mini '13th' season?

There were some oddities, like none of us could understand why Bobbi Olberholtzer was left out, no privacy/legal issues, and there were some other weird ones - like the fact that they have the UPDATE to the Sheldon Weinberg case, but not the full segment itself. The Face on Mars segment was on the DVDs, although we know its no longer a mystery I dont see why it couldnt have been included.

Probably a ton of others.

A good thing about the Lifetime Seasons (11 & 12) there are a lot of true crime segments and very little fluff or paranormal segments.

A bad thing about the Lifetime Seasons (11 & 12) pretty much all of the cases were filmed in Southern California and little is done to hide this.

Also, I notice old footage from earlier cases is used in some of the Lifetime Segments.

--The case of the woman who moved 28 times as a child and came to believe she was kidnapped, that scene where you see a woman kissing a baby's head was used elsewhere.

--The case of the mother who found the note in a bank parking lot and then later died along with her two children in an apartment fire appears to reuse file footage from the Kansas City MO arson

--And as i indicated elsewhere stock footage of Tim McClure taking a poly is used in another segment (the pink sweater and the male looking finger is a dead giveaway)

Those are just the ones that come most readily to mind but I am sure there are others.

Speak for yourself. I enjoy the paranormal stories. They're a big part of the show's appeal. The show is called Unsolved Mysteries, not Unsolved Crimes, and I've always loved that it shows a variety of cases. I believe in ghosts, aliens, monsters, demons so it's fun to see Unsolved Mysteries feature those stories.

I loved that they toned down fluff stories like Lost Loves. Those have always been the worst Unsolved Mysteries segments and I'm glad they were mostly non-existent from the Lifetime era.

I found at least one more to add to my posr. In Boston Strangler part 2, I am pretty sure the exhumation footage you see was also used waaaay back in the Dave Davis segment.

If I could just find a job where such recall would be useful.

lol we should have a 'reused footage' thread.

The one I have seen reused SO MANY times is the car chase w/ Michael Mohon. They leave out the parts where 'Mohon' is shown, but I've probably seen that chase in 5 or more later segments.

Of course its just Cosgrove being frugal, since he didn't have that higher budget he had in the early NBC years.

I actually suspect there will be a "season 13" with prior omitted episodes, with even some bonus material. Isn't the first seasons of the garbage farina show called "season 14" on Hulu?

Although the production values leave something to be desired, the season has more compelling cases than anything going back to Season 7.

I love the ghost stories, well most of them, and they're probably the only thing the latter seasons did better than the early ones. I've always loved the Black Hope segment.

Thinking about it now though, I can't remember now if I just skipped it because they're from the DVD or if they just weren't on Amazon, but I don't recall seeing the segment that was on the DVD of the house in England that was the subject of a "groundbreaking" lawsuit over it being haunted.

The Black Hope Curse segment is the only one of the (many, many) tedious ghost stories that convinces me the victims really did believe something happened.
