View Full Version : Peekskill taking over the Munsters??
'80sSitcoms 10-21-2017, 10:02 AM So I've been binging on The Munsters with it nearing Halloween, and who should show up in an episode but Eastland's own neutral-turned-jerk headmaster, Mr. Parker! I realized I "knew" this guy, and after a moment I thought, "Is that...Mr. Parker??" and sure enough, in the closing credits there was "Roger Perry"! Here he was just over 30 years old!
RetroGuy2000 10-21-2017, 10:25 AM Nice find!
And now we know why Mr. Parker was a jerk... he was traumatized from his time with the Munsters!
'80sSitcoms 10-21-2017, 10:26 AM ^---Yes! That must be where his tyrannical need to control and be in charge comes from!
RetroGuy2000 10-21-2017, 10:33 AM I think so! And why working for him became torture for Mrs. Garrett! :D
'80sSitcoms 10-21-2017, 10:56 AM Ha! He still morphed into such a JERK, but at least now we know the psychological reasons why, lol ;)
TV Guy 10-21-2017, 06:34 PM Roger Perry was a Desilu contract player back in the 1950s. He is married to Joyce Bulifant, who was married to William Asher, who was married to Elizabeth Montgomery.
Smartboy 10-21-2017, 10:16 PM I wonder if he is an any relation to Matthew Perry who was Chandler from "Friends".

That sounds like one messed-up marriage!

If they are related, it must be distantly. Matthew Perry's father John was born in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Roger Perry was born in Davenport, Iowa. But they both appeared in an episode of Falcon Crest (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0576035/fullcredits/) in 1985.

Those are some very interesting facts my friend.
'80sSitcoms 10-24-2017, 05:51 PM And a friend informed me Roger Perry's first wife was the fantastic Joann Worley! lol
'80sSitcoms 10-25-2017, 11:51 AM More Peekskill residents are taking over the Munsters!
Now it's more Eastland faculty and Peekskill law enforcement moving in on the Munsters...in the 1981 TV film "The Munsters' Revenge" (which is a ridiculous title---there is no revenge! There's only justice!), one scene features Eastland French teacher Mr. Palmer (no pics online), and one of the leads is played by the undercover cop who busted our girls at the Chug-a-lug, Officer Barry Shuler! lol (2 pics below)...he actually plays a cop in this as well, the son of the police chief.
I can't believe all these Peekskill faces mixing with the Munsters.
RetroGuy2000 10-25-2017, 08:03 PM If he's not careful, he's going to get a beer poured over his head!
I think this really illustrates how small the TV industry was in that era. There were only three major networks back then.
