The main reason why Blu-Rays have become more expensive in price to buy is you can fit a lot of stuff onto a Blu-Ray disk in addition to the movie itself plus Blu-Rays are slightly better designed than DVDs. But what I can't figure is why some movies are expensive in Blu-Ray versions rather than DVDs. Take for example every year I see A Christmas Story in Blu-Ray retailing for $24,99 while the regular DVD version retails for $6,99 and the same thing with the Blu-Ray of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation that seems to retail for $30,00 and the regular version retails for $9,99 and Irving Berlin's White Christmas retails for $20,00 while the DVD version is scarce to find and if you can find it expect to pay $15,99 for it better than buying the expensive Blu-Ray version of White Christmas. But what they should do once the holidays are over is lower the price of holiday movies on Blu-Ray for a cheaper price. Another thing that makes Blu-Rays pricey is that there are sometimes limited Blu-Rays that must be bought as soon as the movies hit the stores. Take for example you find a movie let's use Pulp Fiction as an example and you want to buy Pulp Fiction on Blu-Ray but you find it on Blu-Ray for $30,00 so do you want to spend $30 on a movie or just buy the DVD version? But if you want to find Blu-Rays for real cheap try searching your Goodwill or any other thrift shop or try FYE where you can find used Blu-Rays at good prices. But as advancements in movies continue to expand I think Blu-Rays will phase out DVDs and become cheaper in price in the future
