View Full Version : Whatever happened to Michael Weiner (Kellogg "Cornflake" Lieberbaum)?

One of Will's prep school buddies during the first two seasons was the nerdy Kellogg Lieberbaum, whom Will nicknamed "Cornflake" (because of his first name). Despite their racial differences ("Cornflake" was Caucasian), Will and "Cornflake" got along very well and became good friends.

I've always wondered whatever became of Michael Weiner, who portrayed "Cornflake." After "Fresh Prince's" second season, the character simply disappeared, never to be seen or mentioned again (he was a no-show in the season three finale "Six Degrees Of Graduation"). I would've wanted to see Will and "Cornflake" move in together as roommates upon graduating from Bel Air Prep, sharing an off-campus apartment (around the corner from ULA) in later seasons...I also would've enjoyed seeing Will and "Cornflake" engaged in various shenanigans, such as "Cornflake" embracing the "wigger" subculture and alienating his preppy pals in the process, before Will brings "Cornflake" back to his senses.

In addition to his recurring role as "Cornflake," Weiner guest-starred on "Parker Lewis Can't Lose," "The Wonder Years," "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper," "Felicity," and "Beverly Hills 90210" before disappearing from the industry.

Drop me a line...I'd love to hear from you! Enjoy your evening, folks!

I always liked Cornflake! I wish he had stayed with the show. Similarly, I wish Will had stayed in a better friendship with Tyriq. He was hilarious and complemented Will's friendship with Jazz well (Tyriq being more responsible and dependable than Jazz, hahaha). Characters like Cornflake and Jazz help make The Fresh Prince one of my favorite shows; I have rarely seen another show use minor characters so well. The Brady Bunch does a great job with minor characters, too.

Compared to Jazz, Tyriq was a total jackass...Tyriq's stupidity made Jazz look like a Nobel Prize laureate; after all, he wasn't called "Bel-Air's oldest tenth grader" for nothing!

Thanks for commenting, Mark Mallard! Good night!
