View Full Version : The kids made Alice cry. Those Brady Brats!
Anna Karenina 10-15-2017, 03:50 PM Those Brady Brats giving her the cold shoulder for her just doing her job still ticks me off. :o  :D They should have had to shine her shoes for the next year. Not to mention how they they tried to scare the hell out of her in the sculpture episode. I wish she had the chance to tell those ungrateful snots off. She saved the two youngest ones from a creepy predator next door for one thing. Where is the gratitude?
And what crime did she commit with Jan exactly? Why did she turn against her? And what about her promise never to stop wearing the silver locket she gave her to make her feel "special"? Jan had no loyalty to her fellow "middle" sis.
Marcia left Alice's record player that SHE won on ALL NIGHT!!! She should have apologized to Alice for being so careless instead of acting like SHE was the injured party in the situation.
And Peter and Greg. Really? Didn't you learn your lesson a couple years ago about not playing ball in the house? And you blame Alice for your own screw up?
At least Carol got the chance to tell them off. Florence Henderson was so great in that scene. Maybe her best acting ever on the show.

Bonniegirl 10-15-2017, 05:56 PM How about when Bobby and Cindy left their Chinese checkers on the floor in the living room for Alice to trip over and sprain her ankle! :(

Bonnie!!!
They should have taken away Kitty Karyall and Bobby's kazoo for that offense.
Poor Alice.
By the way, great pic! :)

So nice to see/hear from you!
Do you get MeTV again now?
Bonniegirl 10-15-2017, 06:32 PM I would have whipped their behinds so bad they would be too sore to play on the teeter totter let alone strive for a world record!  :D

Hey Sven! Little BroBro!
I haven't seen it pop up in the package again yet but I go on their page a lot. I like their free music station with the classic oldies.

I guess the Brady's didn't believe in punishment beyond the brats losing their allowances.
Wawwie 10-15-2017, 06:52 PM All of the Brady brats totally took Alice for granted.

Apparently they don't have any problem with their Daughter riding a bike wearing a mini dress either!

What was up with that look?
Carol should have made sure her girls were covered up better. :(
Anna Karenina 10-15-2017, 07:26 PM All of the Brady brats totally took Alice for granted.
I loved Kay though.
She really let them know how much they had in having Alice in their lives. She was kind of a bitch to Mrs. Brady though.
She had a big heart despite her seeming coldness and couldn't bear to see Alice in pain unlike those ingrates who just treated her like dirt.
And the creeps next door should have had the cops called on them parading around naked with their small children like it was so normal.

Mini skirts/ dresses were very in those days, even for little girls! Except for Catholic school uniforms! The Nuns weren't too fond of the new fashion! :nonono:
And I knew girls who did actually ride bikes wearing a dress ,:D My Sister and I never did though, only in pants ! Jessica from Murder she wrote rides her bike in a dress too, but not a short dress. But still kind of awkward and uncomfortable I would think?

I agree with the fact that sometimes(especially in that episode) they took her for granted, but I think calling them brats is uncalled for. Maybe sometimes, by not always.

What? They were acting like brats! It is totally called for.
Love you but I need to respectfully disagree with you on that one.
They made Alice cry! After all she did for them.
BRATS, BRATS, BRATS!!!

Anna was pretty much just being facetious!:D Just calling them brats in fun. Just kind of poking fun at an old beloved TV show! ;)
And I was just doing the same, and I'm sure Wawwie is too!;) We are all Brady fans! ;)

Jessica Fletcher was modestly attired so it was okay. But for practical reasons pants would be more in order whilst riding a bike.

I agree with that certain episode/instance. Never seen it but it was jerky to do that, yes.

I was being DEADLY SERIOUS!!! ;) :D With a wink of facetiousness. ;)
In that episode and the sculpture one they were being BRATS!!! They acted like Alice was their enemy not their constant ally and advocate and all around good buddy.
However in most of the episodes they were basically good kids who occasionally got swelled heads. ;)

Happily they got their comeuppances, losing their allowances which they whined about on the stairs and having Carol chew the oldest two out after she was drinking her coffee, watching her shows and doing her customary knitting.
But Kay treated her so coldly, she was kind of rude to her actually when she invited her to watch television with her.
"I have my own TV at home."
Yikes!
Anna Karenina 10-15-2017, 08:10 PM I think I would call them jerks.
Yeah, they were that too.
Why am I so mad at them still? It has been like 45 years already. I need to get over it already.

I wonder how they would have treated Hazel had she been their maid? :D

I think Greg and in later years Peter would have had a crush on her!!! :D
And I don't think Mrs. Brady would want a woman that looked like Nanny Fine around Mr. Brady and living at their house!!! Mr. Brady was a loyal non cheating Hubby, but men will be men and a hot live in Nanny might be a wee bit too tempting!!!

Did you know the actor who played Mr. Brady was on Mannix?
I never cared for The Nanny:p But it was mostly because it replaced All in the Family, and I loved that show since it was my first time watching it then. I might like The Nanny better now.

Seeing that picture makes me think of our beloved Bradley Nordy. :)
Anna Karenina 10-15-2017, 09:13 PM ^^^ They never could have handled Nanny Fine.
Nanny Fine would never have put up with that kind of disrespect. If she sensed they were mad at her as in the Goodbye Alice Hello episode she would have confronted them directly not run away sniveling.
I loved Alice but wish she would have LET THEM HAVE IT!!! She was WAY too nice to them. That is why them turning against her like that on those occasions was so random. They treated her like she was their adversary, it didn't make any sense given the context of their long and loving relationship with her. Especially the boys who knew her since they were really little.
Anna Karenina 10-15-2017, 09:15 PM Maybe they needed Emma the drill sargeant.
HaHa, yes!
Torgo 10-15-2017, 09:17 PM Marcia Marcia Marcia also mad Alice feel awful, and yelled at Alice for supposedly taking Greg's side when Alice threw away Marcia's papers for her running for student president.

Send her to my house. I'm in need of some discipline. ;)

Yeah, I was thinking of that moment too.
Alice was so patient with her and just responded to that tantrum with helping her out by making slogans and accepting her contrition with her customary kindness.

Anna Karenina 10-15-2017, 10:06 PM Sam could be bratty with Angela but Jonathan was always respectful to Tony.

caladon 07-17-2019, 12:28 AM Thank you, that was very nice of you; I appreciate it.
stevea 07-22-2019, 10:05 PM I really disliked what the kids did to Alice in this episode, also. I think she made the right decision to leave. That episode, and how Jan treated Aunt Jenny. Jan was really rude to her!
Retro Vic 09-15-2019, 01:23 PM A few more weeks with cousin Emma would’ve set them straight.
