Hi Everyone,

My name is Lori. I am new here. The Waltons is one of my most dearest TV show. It brings me back. Part of the 1970's was good to me and some not so good.

The way I see the show, it was bad enough when John Boy left the show. Then Grandma had her stroke and Grandpa died. And still if that wasn't enough Olivia and John left. I loved the characters of Grandma and Grandpa and have always wished I had grandparents just like that. I really lost interest in the show after John and Olivia left. It just wasn't the same anymore. I mean I started losing interest when Grandma had her stroke and Grandpa died but for me the end of the show was when John and Olivia left.

I wish things could be like it was during the early days of the Waltons in real life. I wish people still cared about one another and did for each other. People just aren't genuine anymore.

I have been watching a few episodes from the first season and I find it interesting how life was in the 1930's. Mother Olivia ironing with a with cord line attached to a hanging light socket. Mother and father drinking lots of coffee. Any phone messages had to made and received at Ike's store. Games, out side playing and the radio were the entertainment. Oh did see a few episodes when someone went to Picture show several miles away. The average child today couldn't survive with that lifestyle.

I do wonder how well Ralph and the older child actors could run the lumber saw. Boy, that gadget could be an accident to happen. no safety gear. Rubber bands pulling.

Everyone was friendly. It seems every episode a friend or newbie is invited inside the house. . Some sleep over a night.
