I just finished watching the series.

I know Roseanne and Leon were always saying rude stuff to each other and making fun of each other, but I got the idea they really cared and appreciated each other, they just never showed it.

Roseanne was always inviting Leon to parties and gatherings and he even came to her intervention.

So I'm just wondering, did they actually care about each other they just didn't know how to show it?

Yep. It was an interesting friendship which started with... enmity, I guess. Weird way for a friendship to start, but interesting, nonetheless.

Yes I believe they really liked and cared for each other... It was kinda like George and Florence on the Jeffersons, they bickered all the time, but when it came down to it, there were times where it showed they truly cared for each other.
