I want to watch a movie that I haven’t seen in years, but my dad wants to watch his favorite show. When I told him that I wanted to see the movie, he said no.
So I had to watch the show that my dad likes with him instead.

Bonniegirl 10-01-2017, 07:39 PM You don't have more than one TV in your house?
When I was a kid we had the main big TV in the living room, and well yeah Dad pretty much ruled the roost, if he wanted to watch something that was it!;) But being the Dad, and it's his house and we were the kids and well that's how it was! ;)
Anyway we always had a second TV in the house . A smaller, black and white portable TV for us kids to watch if we didn't want to watch what our parents were watching!:)
Than when I moved out of my parents house and married and had kids I always had two TV's in my house !;)
Torgo 10-01-2017, 07:52 PM Growing up we had the main living room TV, a small black and white in the kitchen, a TV in the basement, and one in my parent's room.
I guess that's a tradition I've carried through to my own family- TV in the living room, one in the family room, one in the basement, one in the master bedroom, plus my daughter has her own TV that she saved up for, that's the main TV my niece used when she lived here.
We watch a lot of the same stuff, but there's stuff I like my wife doesn't, and vice versa.
Retro4Life 10-01-2017, 08:08 PM Most families I knew growing up in the 70's had one television in the house. You watched what everyone else was watching, or you didn't watch. Then again, I was pretty much the only kid in the house (my brother having left and got married when I was quite young), so there weren't many occasions when I was watching something I really didn't want to.
As the years went on, more and more people got a second TV. I got an old black and white 13 inch for my room when I was 16.
Then again, there were only three BIG networks when I was young, so you didn't have as much choice.

I do, but had to eat with him in the kitchen. I couldn't eat in the other rooms that have a TV.

Lucky. Wish I had a lot of money myself so I could buy one.

That's what my dream is. To move out, get a place, and buy myself a TV.
My mother. I don't like her sometimes.
