View Full Version : HUGELY popular shows that still aren't complete on DVD
tlc38tlc38 09-27-2017, 09:38 PM What some you can think of?
The Beverly Hillbillies
Petticoat Junction
Happy Days
Ironically, all 3 of these are owned by CBS who are known for horrible DVD releases.
Svenfan1234 09-27-2017, 09:41 PM St. Elsewhere
The Love Boat
Theda Bara 09-27-2017, 09:57 PM Marcus Welby, MD
Love, American Style
Chico And The Man
Dale Key 09-27-2017, 10:01 PM Who's the Boss
Gunsmoke
bmasters9 09-28-2017, 07:26 AM Knots Landing (still only 1/7 of that CBS Thursday serial [1979-81] is on DVD)
tlc38tlc38 09-28-2017, 08:44 AM Empty Nest
Murphy Brown
The Drew Carey Show
Where these 3 "HUGE"? I'm not sure but I do know they were on for MANY years.

Another CBS distributed comedy, which ran 12 seasons so was very popular, is My Three Sons. All that's been released are the first two seasons, which were black and white. These also had music licensing issues, so they've had their soundtracks altered on DVD. Meanwhile, we have 7 color seasons which should have had DVD releases by now.
Becca3557 09-30-2017, 03:50 PM I don't know if "Family" was hugely popular.....but I'd love to see it offered as a complete set.
Svenfan1234 10-09-2017, 10:52 AM I wish Shout Factory at this point would make a deal with CBS/Paramount to release complete series of Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, Happy Days, & The Love Boat. Those NEED to be completed on DVD!
I want to see the rest of The Love Boat released on DVD.
How about Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Fantasy Island and Benson.

I'd buy "Empty Nest" & "Murphy Brown" for sure but I don't care too much for "The Drew Carey Show". Even with that being said, I hope all 3 do eventually end up making their complete runs to DVD.
Buffyboy323 11-11-2017, 01:13 AM Who's The Boss?
A Different World
Blossom
I would add Alice and Diff'rent Strokes to the list, but it looks like both will FINALLY be complete soon enough.
Svenfan1234 02-22-2018, 01:14 PM I still can't believe "Alice" isn't complete on DVD.

Patience, patience. It will be. I have faith that WB is working on it.
1960'sTVfan 02-28-2018, 07:07 PM This show isn't necessarily hugely popular, but The Flying Nun needs to be completed on DVD. Seasons 1 and 2 came out in 2006, which means the 3rd and final season has been stalled now for 12 years. Absolutely ridiculous, not good at all.

Oh, yes-- IMO, it should have been in an all-in-one from the top!
Svenfan1234 02-28-2018, 08:03 PM St. Elsewhere is one I'm really shocked Shout hasn't taken on yet. Really good and insanely popular show. If they can release its sister show of sorts, Hill Street Blues, why not this one?
