Bob Newhart Returns to "Big Bang Theory" Season 11

Bob Newhart has booked a return visit to "The Big Bang Theory", EW has learned.

Newhart will reprise his role as Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) childhood hero Arthur Jefferies, a.k.a Professor Proton, a former Bill Nye-type host of a scientific TV show, in the Nov. 2 episode.



Though Arthur died in season 7, he subsequently returned twice as a ghostly Jedi apparition in Sheldon’s dreams, which is exactly how he’ll return in season 11, appearing to Sheldon in another time of need.

Wil Wheaton will also reprise his role as Sheldon’s on and off again nemesis in that same episode.

I am just glad he received a well deserved Emmy for his performance on Big Bang. He is a wonderful actor. The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart are classics.
