Is Bill Daily in character on Match Game? I mean his answers are hysterically...I don't want to say stupid...but?

It's not an occasional brain cramp, but 99% of the time his answer is way out there. Not like the panelists who aren't good players, but way way out there.

Even when big money is on the line he is wildly unpredictable.

Another panelist even questioned how does he remember his lines for the Bob Newhart Show?

I mean the guy is a great comedic actor added so much to the shows he was on.

Has anyone ever seen him in anything or an interview when he was the real Bill Daily or on the ball.

Or is he always on and just a unique person?

I've seen his interview in Emmy TV Legends- and I have to say that he didn't have to stretch too much to play Howard with his 'uniqueness'. Although,it's likely he was 'encouraged' by both his own and 'Match Game's producers to play the latter game as close to character as possible because that's what many viewers would expect and be entertained by when tuning in.
