I found a song by Randy Travis called Three Wooden Crosses that was on the same cd that I found singer Dusty Drake's song and when I looked at the liner notes of the cd the song Three Wooden Crosses was taken from Randy Travis's cd Rise And Shine and it makes me think that Randy Travis was trying to cross over to the Christian genre of music to attract a wider audience to his music. I also read that he had signed to Word Records to record a lot of Christian country albums
Was this something new that Randy Travis had wanted to do to expand his musical success?

I don't know this for sure, but I believe Randy Travis is a Christian in real life and likes Christian songs. He guest starred on Touched by an Angel and some other inspirational shows/movies.
