In the music industry I have noticed that female singers that sing well have become rare to find today and I want to know why this is? Is it because female singers are more interested in selling more records and getting their own image? Because I've noticed in music today that female singers that make it big release one album then never release another album again and get forgotten about. Take for instance from the 80's to the 90's there were female singers like Whitney Houston Taylor Dayne and Laura Branigan and when Mariah Carey released her debut album in 1990 there seemed to be singers that tried to copy her style but now ever since the deaths of Laura Branigan and Whitney Houston you will never ever find another Laura Branigan or a singer with the talent like Whitney Houston and I seem to think that ever since Miley Cyrus debuted as Hannah Montana and then became popular with successful albums and now it seems that stars like Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande have replaced the more popular singers. Another thing about female singers today is they become huge because of their songs and start with a wholesome image then as they become more popular they change their image to a more mature image. Take for example when Christina Aguilera came out she had an awesome talent and was a role model for teens and young girls but when she released her second album Christina Aguilera went to an adult image and sang mature and adult lyrics in her songs. A second singer who's career suffered the same fate is Leona Lewis and when she made her debut in America many critics referred to her as the new Whitney Houston and when the song Bleeding Love debuted from Leona Lewis's debut album Spirit she was on top of the music world and after she released the follow-up album Echo Leona Lewis's popularity began to wane. In my eyes I would love to see more female singers like Laura Branigan and Taylor Dayne and more female singers like Barbra Streisand make their marks in the music industry because it would be huge news for the world of music indeed
