Man oh man...how do so many of these garbage segments keep making it to streaming, but we still don't get Orange Socks or Tube Socks. So crazy to me.

Season 10 & 11 are 12 total episodes so probably not. I assume they combined those two seasons as one.

I HATE the way these episodes were shot. They look terrible and really take away the last bit of creepiness that the show how. There are some memorable cases here to be sure and some I haven't seen before but the decline is in full effect here and the 10th and final episode is all the silly sci-med, legend cases. Though I do like Chair of Death.

I really wish they'd take all the cases they've kept off of Amazon so far and put them together for one final season but that is not going to happen.

I believe that she has likely been cut out. I don't think they even use the original CBS intro. It looks like they are using the Lifetime intro from the last 2 seasons.

I've only ever heard the CBS theme on YT. I think they must have buried that intro in a vault somewhere because I have never seen it even uploaded online.

I sorta feel bad for the people who had their own unsolved crimes on the later seasons. You can't compare a season one or two, with seasons eight or nine. With each additional season, you can see the series decline. (My opinion)

I agree, and just wanted to point out that if trim out some of the words, you have a good UM haiku.

The visuals for CBS & Lifetime are pretty much the same, the UM logo is white with a dark blue background and the title cards at the bottom of the screen stating who is being interviewed are white text with dark blue.

The main logo for the last two seasons on NBC was white with a teal blue background.

I would describe the CBS theme music as using a back-and forth beat (1,2,1,2) tick-tock, tick-tock with a sci-fi synthesizer (do-do-do-do) going from high to low, then the sci-fi synthesizer makes aloud bang and the sound has a ripple effect.

Yes it's true that Stack' s voice was more frail at this point, which made me a little sad at the time because he had always seemed ageless to me. But let it be said that I'll take Stack's narration at 80% over anyone else at 100%

Yes. We're getting 12 Stack seasons in total.

Even with the missing cases, I really love having the Stack seasons available again. This time last year I didn't think I'd ever get to see some of this again, and here we are. Let's by all means remember and advocate for the missing segments, but I'm massively appreciative of CMP and FilmRise for doing this.

This is one of the things that bugs me the most about the "newer" seasons. The older seasons used smooth photography that had some stunning views and really helped shape the stories. It also helped with the eeriness factor. The later years had shaky, overdone photography with dumb filters and effects. It feels much more like a grade-B cable network or high school video class filmed these episodes. It's too bad because they did still have some good stories, but I feel the jumpy cameras really distracted from the cases.

There's a better mix of cases here for sure. The balance of pointless filler segments and crime is better here, whether that's due to how much was taken out for Amazon I can't say.

It surprises me how many of these I'm seeing in this season made it to the best of DVDs, given that these were the declining years. At least there's a decent amount that I've never seen on either the official or unofficial DVDs.

I don't really get how they could try to make a segment out of Amy Bechtel's husband possibly being her killer. Maybe it's down to the poor production quality of the era but that was one flimsy segment. Same for the Mary Agnes Gross segment.

Um...the Sharon Kinne segment is one of the best in terms of pure ham. I wouldn't be giving it a second thought if I saw otherwise honestly. Its definitely Dark Shadows level acting

I rate the Frontera Prison segment highly myself for similar reasons. That dive into the driveway kills me.

I am also surprised by this. I would guess that because the more recent segments look "newer" maybe that is why they used them. But honestly, most of the truly best segments were not included. At the time I loved the official DVDs because I had UM on could watch anywhere, anytime. In comparison now, many of the segments aren't all that great.

Agreed. 10 has some of my favorite segments. I also like 9 despite alot of filler.

Just a warning if you use Airplay to stream Unsolved Mysteries on your AppleTV: Don't upgrade to ios11! I installed ios11 and the Amazon app is not compatible. When I try to watch Unsolved, the connection is broken after roughly three minutes. Amazon's support team says their app is not yet compatible with ios11. This is very frustrating because now I'm forced to watch UM on my tiny iphone screen.

God, I hate the way the CBS reenactments were filmed. They look like the way the early AMW reenactments were shot and that is no good. Looks very cheap and low budget.

It's the difference between film and video. I haven't seen this anywhere, but does anyone know if it was an intentional decision, and not a cost-cutting measure? To make the series seem more "documentary"?

Personally, my favorite visual style was the first few seasons when it was shot on 16mm film with photochemical and analog video processing. It gave the segments a fuzzy, detached, dream-like feel. Kind of like you were watching a memory. The middle seasons with the cleaner film process and digital editing are still good, but I don't think they're as emotionally involving.

Documentary style, thank you. It's a style I had for this show. I loved the feel of the original segments, which had a low budget feel to them (and I'm not saying that in a bad way).

Yeah a lot of these were on repeat for a long time when I came out of my UM hiatus while watching on lifetime. It's like an UM renaissance for me. nothing beats the early days but still holds weight for me.

I miss the music more than the film quality.

Especially that one with the off-kilter Mary Had a Little Lamb.

It's amazing how much of this season was on the ultimate collection DVD set.
