View Full Version : The Best Sit-Com Of The 1970's weeklytop40mam 05-12-2002, 03:48 PM vote for two of your favorite sit-com of the 1970's, my vote goes to "Happy Days" and "Three's Company" Smokebutt 05-12-2002, 04:32 PM the 1970's was the groundbreaking of sit-com land, it all began when "The Brady Bunch" was about a two different families living in a same house after their husband/wife pass away or/and divorces from, but "All In The Family" was real reason for this, because it discusses alot of serious issues like homosexual, rape, women's lip, racisim, underage pregnancy and stuff like that, and "M*A*S*H", "Barney Miller" , "Sanford and Son" and "Maude" began to follow with theses issues with a sence of humor. "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" focus more about a single woman making her living as a human being. and "Happy Days" not only took place in this decade, but it took place in the fablious fifties in a nostalliga way. oh, yeah, "Three's Company" was the first sit-com that talks alot about sex fully. °Bubbly Blonde° 05-12-2002, 04:43 PM I voted for All in the Family, Three's Company, Mary Tyler Moore, M*A*S*H, and Sanford and Son...but where's the Brady Bunch...it's one of the most memorible! lol mstewart 05-12-2002, 05:54 PM The best sitcoms of the 70s: One Day At A Time - First sitcom dealing with a divorced woman making a go at life as a divorced woman raising two children All In the Family - They said things that we thought but did not have the nerve to go there. Cutting edge for its time. I would love to see what they would do with the show in today's times. Mary Tyler Moore - Great sitcoms dealing with a single woman and her interpersonal relationships. I am quite sure we all wish we can work at a place with a family feeling. Central Perk 05-12-2002, 08:43 PM All In the Family and Mary Tyler Moore were two of the best 70s sitcoms. jamier42 05-12-2002, 09:12 PM Happy Days, Three's Company dawsongirl 05-12-2002, 10:16 PM The Odd Couple and WKRP. :) LucyFan 05-13-2002, 12:51 AM Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Three's Company, and The Brady Bunch were the best 70s sitcoms ever.
