I heard a story that at the time that Glen Campbell had a hit with the song Galveston Albertson's Supermarkets claimed to use the instrumental for the song in store commercials in the 70's without Glen Campbell's permission and I would like to know if this story is true? The commercial starts with the beginning of Galveston but instead of Galveston the jingle that features the song says the following lyrics,
"Albertson's Shop Albertson's Every Day For Lower Prices"
When I discovered this fact about Glen Campbell I didn't know that the song Galveston was used for this commercial and when Glen Campbell heard that Albertson's used the song Galveston Albertson's Supermarket removed the jingle and forbade Glen Campbell and the songwriter of Galveston Jimmy Webb not to tell anyone about the song being used in the commercial
