Danny McBride Explains Why Season 2 of "Vice Principals" Will be the Last
by Derek Lawrence
Sept 14, 2017
On the most recent episode of EW: The Show, Danny McBride and Walton Goggins stopped by to preview the HBO comedy’s return and explained why season 2 will be their last.
“I think I had been burned by too many TV shows that I invested in, where they started out great, and then, with each season, stuff changed, cast members left, and ultimately, at the end of the day, you don’t know if you saw the completed thing that the original creators had in mind,” said McBride, who also co-created the series.
“So we wanted to create a show that finality to it, that had a beginning, middle, and end, and give people a complete story.”
That said, McBride isn’t ruling out a return to the classroom down the road.
“This a completed tale, but I will say that I enjoyed working with Walton so much that who knows what could happen,” he said.
