Nell Carter (1948-2003) won a Tony Award for the musical Ain’t Misbehavin’ and an Emmy for a televised performance of the show. She also had two Emmy nominations for the NBC series Gimme a Break!

That is all very interesting. I was very sad when I learned of her passing. Now that I see the date that she was born, I can see that, if she were alive today, she would be one year older than Meryl Streep.
