Notorious 05-11-2002, 11:19 PM i'm not trying to be mean:
but aren't you really old to be watching Blues Clues?
RainMan 05-11-2002, 11:24 PM I admit it I watch Blue's Clues
I started watching it last year when I went to my aun'ts house for my cousin's bday party. He turned one that year. She and him just LOVe blue's clues so i sat down and watched it. I'm not the biggest BC fan but i watch it if I am up early enough...which barely ever happens lol:)

°Bubbly Blonde° 05-12-2002, 12:15 AM I love Blue's Clues and YES!! They killed the show with this guy! What the hell happened to Steve, did he really die or what!? I guess we may never kno.....
RainMan 05-12-2002, 12:20 AM I have Heard that he wants to act in other things. I got this off a website and i don't know if it was true but many parents who watched the show with their kids accused Steve of acting Homosexual-like in front of children. WTF is up with that?

WE LOVE YOU STEVE! DITCH YOUR FAKE BROTHER JOE AND COME BACK!
Picture Below: His 11th grade picture...I'm in the 11th grade too!
Notorious 05-12-2002, 12:23 AM I'd like kid shows more if they would have good acting! Creators have to deal with bad acting, cuz all of the good actors don't want to be known as that person on a kids show.
RainMan 05-12-2002, 12:27 AM I thought steve was a good actor for Blue's Clues....Maybe all of us fans are just used to Steve and not that "Brother Figure" Joe....He doesn't even use his real name on the show! His real name is Donovan. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT!

I think I read somewhere that he may infact be gay and that's why he may have left the show....I don't think that's any reason to take such a good guy off the show, and replace him with such a crappy guy!
RainMan 05-12-2002, 12:40 AM Yeah I know. Nick is probly against gays. Note that they don't say anything that has to do with gays on Nickelodeon (excluding nick at nite) they want a straight guy to do it.

the new guy SUCKS! I mean, if Steve's a homosexual, then so what!!? Nickelodeon shouldn't have anything against gay people since Rosie O Donnel does the Kids Choice Awards every year, and the kids (and their parents, seemingly) seem to like her just fine!

Actually Steve left because he wanted to didn't want to be Blues Clues anymore he wasn't fired or anything...
RainMan 05-13-2002, 10:26 AM I wouldn't think Steve would get fired he seems like a nice guy.

TV Guy 05-13-2002, 09:02 PM First of all, whether or not Steve Burns is homosexual has NOTHING to do why he's no longer on "Blue's Clues". Steve himself has stated in many interviews that he had a wonderful experience on the show, but wants to do other things in his career than host a children's show, so he made the difficult decision to leave. Second of all, I have watched the new host, Joe, with my children, and there's nothing wrong with him. He is quite good, especially considering the large shoes he has to fill.
Change is part of life, folks, and Nickelodeon has handled this transition beautifully. And children are much more inclined to accept this change if their parents let them know that change can be an exciting part of life.
Spreading rumors that Steve was forced out because of an alleged sexual preference isn't doing anyone (Steve, the network, the viewers) any favors. Stop the hysterics.

Oh, WHATEVER! Oh Yeah, that's all your opinion that he's having tough shoes to fill and that he's doing the best he can, and that's fine, but I DON'T and that's my opinion. And, like, there were never ''hysterics" okay!? Duh?! Where are they "hysterics!?
TV Guy 05-13-2002, 11:18 PM Go back and read the first message in this thread. That seems pretty hysterical to me (although pretty funny, too, now that I read it again).
If you want to see hysteria to the extreme, go to the Blue's Clues message board on the Nick Jr. site. Ever since the host switch, it's probably the most contentious board Nick has ever had.
Brian Damage 05-14-2002, 02:17 PM I agree with TV Guy 100%! First of all, this is a childrens show! It is geared for preschoolers and below. Children aren't gonna stop watching a show they love because Joe replaced Steve?!? How would anybody know Steve was gay? Did he have a "Coming Out" pajama party episode? Do you think little preschoolers would understand or even care what he was? The majority of people on these boards are grown adults, teenagers or at the very least pre teens, and SOME of them have nothing better to do but critique a host of a childrens show!?! For an 11th grader to complain about a show geared for 3-6 year olds is really sad. Instead of watching Blue's Clues, go out to parties, go on dates, hang out with friends. Do something more constructive than criticize baby shows! Hey, did you hear that the TeleTubbies were cancelled because Tinky Winky really WAS GAY!!! Jeez!

RainMan 05-14-2002, 05:57 PM I'm sorry to diappoint you braindamage. There really isn't much to do here in EXCITING Churdan, IA. The town is only 415 people. In my 11th grade class there are 12 kids. 10 of them are male and two of them are female. So no major parties or dates there I'm sorry to say:(. There is a town that's over 10,000 people, but it is over 45 miles away. The county seat is 25 miles from my house and it is only 794 people. The town don't even have anything good. Just two gas stations, a bank, an expensive grocery store, the basics, and the courthouse. And I help Mrs. Teena Toliver (The Kindergarten Teacher of Churdan Community Schools) for Cadet. We usually watch Blue's Clues to help the kids learn. I haven't went and said "God Ms. Toliver I HATE BLUE"S CLUES NOW THAT JOE IS ON!" I just keep my mouth shut. BUT I CANNOT STAND THAT IDIOT:(:(:(! There are only 7 Kindergarteners in her class and yes some of the kids wonder what happened to steve because they liked him better. Was it because:
He was gay?
He didn't want to do it anymore?
He wanted to do something more fullfilling in life?
Did he kill himself?
Everyone asks these questions. I think he wanted to do more fullfilling things in his live or it was the fact that he was gay and quit the show. I am not bashing him because he is gay, hell, i don't hate gays at all, unless they wear those annoying turtleneck shirts and dress up in women's clothing. Well I must WHOOSH because my band concert is at 5:45 and I gotta eat supper and get ready so TA!

°Bubbly Blonde° 05-14-2002, 06:28 PM Im in 8th Grade, and I LOVE Blues Clues, along with just about everyone in my class, especially during the Summer, when there's nothing to do, and all my friends are on vacation! It's a great show, and Im not going to hide my feelings for this new guy just cuz someone doesn't like it! I, however, have lots to do, even tho this isnt the most fun town, and have lots of friends and people in my class! :D
mamamiasweetpeaches 05-20-2002, 12:49 PM Maybe I stand alone:But I LIKE JOE!!!
B4 I start I wanna tell you I'm a mother of a 3 year old and not a strange adult who watches the show with a joint in one hand and a beer in the other!!!I have a legitimate reason to watch the show dailey.
When I was told Steve Burns(who we loved like a member of the family)was leaving because he "didnt want to end up like Krusty the Clown"I was worried that my daughter would be devestated. He left.He wasnt fired. Were they supposed to stop the show because he left and break the hearts of millions? No.They got Joe...and instead of hitting us like a ton of bricks, they had Steve telling us he was going away but that his brother Joe would be the new host. Then they did a 3 part thing with both Joe and Steve to ease us into the transaction. Now Joe is on and doing a fine job of hosting. If you cant accept Joe,then watch reruns of Steve.

It's called going over to someones house and playing games or hanging out in the backyard and things like that. Just because your town doesn't have much to do, don't complain a bout it, just make the best out of it. And why not hang out with Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshman? Are they like diseased or something. There is such a thing as intergrade relationships. Sheesh.
RainMan 02-16-2003, 12:17 AM I was on this site and it said like on certain sitcoms: Which Leave it to Beaver cast member would you kill? Of course I picked Larry cuz he was a frickin idiot who did nothing but sit on his fat ass, ate, and got Beaver in trouble EVERY episode!
n e wayz. I wish there was something like that for Blue's Clues, then I would like choose Joe a gazillion times!
