From the Matthew Chase case? He was never in silhouette.

Donnie Hansen was my first choice as well. We saw that photo of him and his three sisters as a kid at the beginning of the episode, so it'd be interesting to see what he looks like now.

Always been very curious to see what the Tallman family really looked like.

Also, Ed Walters is the one example I can think of a guy who was originally interviewed in silhouette under a fake name on UM, but then showed his face on a follow-up episode to deny accusations that he was a hoaxer. I wonder if there are any more examples like this.

Wasn't the woman who stopped to buy a can of soda in the middle of the night originally interviewed in silhouette? I've since seen her in other shows out in the open.

Yes, Jane Boroski kept her identity hidden on UM. She has since been willing to show her face on other shows like "Dr. Phil" because the man she believes attacked her, Michael Nicholaou, is currently dead.

Jane also posted here a few years ago. I sent her a private message and she is an incredibly sweet lady.

id like to see janice katilius's face

ive poked around the interweb for her picture but to no avail
i did however find the facebook profile of a person in silhouette ive wanted to see--sandra kay beeman's daughter leslie

her name is leslie tharp now and she lives in maryland
ill have to post the link when i get back to my ipad

also there is one picture of Phoebe harrison cooper (aka 'debbie') from the NC nightmare segment circulating online and i can also post that later...

Type her name into Facebook and you'll see she has an account with four pictures of her available.

I did some sleuthing online a couple years ago and according to White Pages and Google, there is only one Janice Katilius in the US. Her age (54) and state (Connecticut) match up.

The girl who got waited on by "Megadeth Guy" in the Deborah Poe segment. She was portrayed by a little person in high heels. I've always been curious as to what the real girl looked like and why they used a person of such small stature to portray her in the reenactment. Perhaps the cigarettes stunted her growth.

"Debbie", although I respect the show maintaining her privacy and sense of security, as well as her sense of dignity as the injuries inflicted on her were at the time quite recent. It almost sounds as though part of her jaw was immobile in the interview. :(

Also second the guy in the Stanley Gryziec segment.

Lmao.

They also exaggerated the description of the megadeth guy behind the counter x 10. The real mystery is if they were strapped for budget, or did they want to alter their appearances to make it seem more "menacing"?

I was confusing him with a witness from the spree killer teens segment with similar hair. Having said that, I see what Dahl looks like now and yes gay or not I'd still climb it.

The Tallman Family (right name? The ones haunted by ghost). Something about the case just seemed off so it'd be interesting to see them irl. So that I can give them the best "judging you" face. Same to that freemason guy from season 9

Without a doubt, Donnie Hanson.

Most people concealing their identity on UM were victims trying to avoid being stalked, discovered by wrongdoers, exposed, and/or humiliated. In most cases, I am completely OK with respecting their privacy.

But that guy? Mr Donnie "I killed my twin sisters and got away with it" Hanson? Yeah, I'd have like to see his face and watch him try to talk his way out of it.

haha not to be mean or anything but i think some people may have been filmed in silhouette on purpose...due to their uh maybe less than tv friendly appearance

an example being the 'run down motel resident' interviewed in the bill blackwell segment (he done done the job)...

You can see portions of the tapes of that arsonist on the cold case files episode "Fire Flicks". His face is partially blurred but definitely worth watching. It's online in a couple of places

I'd be kind of interested in knowing what he's up to today.

From the Cold Case episode, the cop said the kid was “troubled” not “extremely disturbed” and said he was “difficult to interview because he was so quiet and withdrawn”, not just withdrawn.

Me too. I realize the court records were probably sealed because they were underage when the crime occurred, but I find it surprising their neighbors/school classmates haven't "outed" them...especially since we know Omar was identified as a teen in the area.

They would be in their late 40s today, I think. For all I know, Omar or his friend could be my neighbor or co-worker lol

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they did, but when he was much younger. We would have to guess what he looks like now as an adult based on that picture. I imagine he would have changed his looks after he changed his name as well. There are probably pictures of him from newspaper articles when the trial was going on since he was an adult at the time.

I agree with that. I tried to find pictures of her online and couldn't find any. I thought it odd that they didn't show her at that point. I get if she were still alive, and could be hunted down by her ex (or whatever it was...I can't remember). But with her dead, I don't see any real reason for the mystery...

Although she obviously never appeared in silhouette, that’s a great answer. Anna Anton holds the strange distinction of being the only murder victim ever profiled on UM to not have a single photo of them shown. I’ve always wondered why that was.

I believe TK Harty's picture was also not shown, but at least someone uploaded it on the UM wiki and there have been other documentaries on the case. But Anna Anton's appearance remains a mystery for some reason.

I was always scratching my head on why Susan Laferte was shown in silhouette. I understood when I heard RS narration, but they showed at least two pictures of her before the attack. Did the attack change her appearance from the pictures so much the attacker would not recognize her?

That's anyone's guess, but Susan Laferte's appearance could have changed with the passage of time, regardless. The segment originally aired in the spring of 1988, six years after the attack. Some people physically change a lot in six years, others less so (if at all), depending on a number of things, such as health or lifestyle. Susan could have changed hairstyles and/or other physical aspects of herself during that six-year period.
