I've never seen Dallas but you can't top the chemistry he had with Barbara Eden.

The chemistry between Larry and Barbara was off the rails and it can't be topped

Definitely Larry and Barbara for my vote. I always preferred Major Nelson over JR because Larry made me laugh as Major Nelson. You can't beat that in my book.

I get the feeling that Larry genuinely had some feelings for Barbara (who wouldn't). There was an article (sadly in the National Enquirer) that "friends" said Larry was in love with her. This was after his passing of course so it's all gossip. An interviewer did ask Barbara about that recently. She said she never knew it if he was and they were both married anyway.
But Larry's daughter in her book wrote that he rarely discussed Barbara at home but was deeply respectful to her always. You can see him sometimes onscreen with Barbara and he looks very smitten with her and almost shy.
Linda, I think was just a good buddy and they bonded that way. But JR and Sue Ellen didn't have a great romance. It was more of a toxic marriage.

I always hated his character on Dallas, but I think it was supposed to be that way. Never really cared for the pairing of him and Linda b/c their characters always seemed so dis-likable and most of the time they were fighting. As a whole I liked "Dallas", but not the characters.
As for he and Barbara, they had amazing chemistry. Today I was watching one of the really early episodes from the first season and I found it to be incredibly romantic, even though it wasn't really meant to be. Or maybe it was... If the latter is true then it definitely worked!

I never watched Dallas, so I wouldn't know. As a native Houstonian, I never had much interest in that city. And yes, I know the show wasn't about the city ;-)

I think he was great with both.
I agree. The fiery, volatile relationship between JR and Sue Ellen made the show.
