View Full Version : HE & SHE Turns 50! upperco 09-05-2017, 10:49 PM https://jacksonupperco.com/2017/09/06/he-she-turns-50-why-i-love-the-single-season-60s-gem/ king of comedy 09-06-2017, 03:50 PM Cool! AB 09-06-2017, 05:18 PM Doesn't seem like 50 years since it first aired. I wish they'd put it on Me-TV or Antenna TV along with Love On A Rooftop. Edison 09-06-2017, 06:08 PM What a wonderful write-up. Thanks. Became a Prentiss fan with "Where the Boys Are", and really liked her in this series - everybody was great. Ah, Network & Nielsen nuttiness. PhoenixAcres 09-06-2017, 08:07 PM This is one of my most desired shows I want to see on Antenna or Me. Duster76 09-06-2017, 10:04 PM Great show, never should have been cancelled. CBS has to take the blame, the network had two youthful comedies in the 67-68 TV season, both were scheduled at 9:30, both were illogically coupled with incompatible lead-ins. He and She had Green Acres as a lead-in (I love this show but it obviously doesn't work with the very modern He and She). Good Morning World had the demographically challenged Red Skelton Show as a lead-in. Green Acres should have been slated before or after Red and the two rookie comedies, He and She and Good Morning World slipped in the 10 to 11 slot behind The Smothers Brothers. PhoenixAcres 09-07-2017, 11:27 AM He and She had Green Acres as a lead-in (I love this show but it obviously doesn't work with the very modern He and She). Yeah I love Green Acres too but despite the differences, He and She definitely seems to be a show I would find appealing. 1960'sTVfan 09-11-2017, 01:26 PM This show aired about five years before it's time, it might have been more successful had it debuted in 1972 instead of 1967. This would be a good show for Antenna TV to air. They run other 1960's one season sitcoms like Good Morning World, My Mother The Car, It's About Time. He & She would have lasted between 4-8 Seasons, had it debuted in 1972, as opposed to '67. It was a trailblazer for the neurotic adult sitcoms like The Odd Couple, The Bob Newhart Show, Seinfeld, and Frasier that came later. |
