Okay, we know Uncle Bill was a great guy. Stellar uncle. But even near-perfect guys make mistakes. What were some of Uncle Bill's biggest dumb ideas?

My start:

1. Hiring people to tell Cissy how to dress, walk, talk in order to attract boys.

2. Even CONSIDERING believing the kids when they told him they wanted to go back to Aunt Fran in Ep. 1:21 "Once in Love with Buffy." After a whole year of driving home the point that the kids were miserable being separated from one another, and after hearing comments about being locked in the closet, and with the kids using facial expressions like hostages while agreeing they want to go back to Fran, and Buffy even driving home the point with a sledgehammer by saying that Mrs. Beasley will go wherever Buffy is "because she loves me,"....he STILL doesn't get it?

3. Letting the pet hamsters go in Central Park. Domesticated hamsters. In Central Park. Uncle Bill....

Uncle Bill is still the best.

Bill never should have let that evil, manipulative witch Aunt Fran anywhere near the kids after she dumped Buffy in the first episode.

When Martha Hyer's character indicated strongly that she was expecting Bill to propose to her -- I realize it would have changed the series totally, but I think Bill had no really valid reason not to propose. I just don't see that his turning down the opportunity was a good decision in that instance. (Season 2, Episode 14, “Star Dust,” 12/18/1967)

Uncle Bill did a great job considering he was a bachelor with no kids. : )
