is why I still have a fondness for this show. It's easy to mock Family Affair for treacle, but there is a gentleness to how people treat one another in the Davis world that I find myself hungry for.

Just watched "The Wings of an Angel" and was touched by Uncle Bill's way of teaching Jody and Buffy the importance of a judicial system that gives people second chances. What a difference from what feels like a drumbeat of cultural messaging to hate, judge, distrust, and punish one another today.

I love Uncle Bill's gentleness in everything, and I love the fact that the kids are quiet and thoughtful and kind, rather than frenetic and sarcastic.

Yeah, I know. 2017 kids, get off my lawn.
