To whatever extent Jack Benny is a sitcom, it's better than the competition.I would say Jack Benny is more of a sitcom than some dramas that are listed on sitcom boards here like Eight is Enough and The Love Boat.

I found out tonight that Julie Andrews starred in a short-lived sitcom from 1992 called Julie. Rider Strong played one of her children a year before Boy Meets World started.
