I have started other threads about certain episodes or shows that I am trying to identify. I have also asked on other people's threads or discussions wherever applicable.
I have not yet gotten any useful replies, so I am starting this thread which asks the question in general and I will describe the shows or episodes that I am trying to find out about. It could be TV sitcoms, dramas, short-lived or obscure series, soaps, or movies, specials, children's programs, or even advertisements.
I might have seen them long ago when I was very young and don't recall what show it was, or what the episode name was, or who the actors were, but by mentioning as much as I can of what I remember, I hope someone can help me identify the show and/or episode, and/or the name of any of the actor(s)/character(s)/person(s) featured which can help in ultimately finding out everything about the show or program or movie or even advertisement I saw.
First, I recall there was a "medical themed" TV show like "Medical Center" or "Emergency" or "Marcus Welby" but it was more low key. It seemed to be a more obscure copy-cat TV show that took after the other medical/doctor shows and was mainly meant to fill in a time slot before 8 PM.
I think that the TV show might have even lasted only half an hour, and I recall that the main "doctor" character looked similar to Paul Michael Glaser (maybe the character was a paramedic rather than doctor because there were often scenes of him coming to accident scenes, or to people's homes or where someone was hurt or sick) and there was once an episode in which the the doctor/paramedic came to the scene of a crime in which police caught a man who had sadistic tendencies or was suspected of it, and he was suspected of having had beaten or harmed certain people and according to how the scene was presented, the viewing audience was supposed to mainly think that the man was guilty of what the police believed the man was guilty of, and one of the cops or detectives got into an argument with the allegedly sadistic man and slapped or punched him real hard so that he fell over, and the doctor/paramedic just helps the suspect up to his feet and looks at the suspect's face to see if he was injured by the punch and the suspect gets real mellow and says something to the effect that he too does not like to see people get hurt just like the doctor/paramedic, and it is at this time that it seems that maybe the suspect is not really the sadistic torturer that he originally seemed to be.
Anyone recognize this description of the scene and the TV show?
Furthermore there were other episodes of this "medical themed" TV show that I recall seeing that I would like to have help in identifying.
I recall one episode in which there was this teen-looking boy ( I think it might have been played by actor "Mitch Vogel" who was caring for his pre-teen brother who was sick. Then the doctor/paramedic arrives on the scene and evaluates the younger boy and asks for the name and address of them both and the older boy is apparently trying to hide his and his brother's identities so that the authorities don't find out that they have no parents who are caring for them. The doctor / paramedic asks the older boy if he has comic books or any kind of children's reading material because the younger boy is sick enough to be taken to the hospital and it might be a long time before he can be released, and it might help ease the younger boy's boredom if he had something to read. The older boy gives the doctor/paramedic what looks like comics and magazines and notebooks and says something to the effect that the younger boy could pass the time looking at them or writing or drawing on the notebooks while in the hospital. Then the doctor/paramedic sees that written on the notebook the name of the child is different from what the older boy told him, so the doctor /paramedic realizes that the older boy did not really tell his and his brother's true names and the doctor/paramedic suspects that the older boy is trying to hide that he and his brother are orphans. I don't think this was "Medical Center" or "Emergency" or "Marcus Welby."
Anyone able to recognize the general description of the plot? What was it and what TV show was it?
Another episode was about another teen boy who was molested by a teacher at school. I think that the teen boy might have been played by Scott Jacoby who was a fairly well known teen actor in the 70s.
The episode was rather "conceptually graphic" (my own definition) for what it presented at least back in the 70s. In one scene the teen boy is in a hospital bed and some woman who might have been the boy's mother tells him "That the man who abused you hurt you, and you will need surgery" The episode focused on the apprehension that the boy had about reporting the teacher but by the end of the episode, the boy courageously decides to report the teacher than keep it a secret. I am not sure, but this might have been a "Medical Center" or "Marcus Welby" episode.
Anyone recognize it or can identify the episode name or the TV show name?
I will post about other TV shows, or episodes (etc) that I hope someone can help me identify.
