whos with me on this? even though the Lucy and Desi Comedy shows were good shows. The last season of I love lucy when they moved to connecticut and they had the new premise, I think it could of gone on more it just seemed rushed. The interactions with Frank and Mary jane Croft as the neighbors and the new kid playing Little Ricky, I cant help think that they could of done more and wish their marriage would of last. Like in the The Lucy and Desi Comedy Hour, they lived in the same house but never saw the neighbors, I wish the would of done another season of I Love Lucy with the whole season in Connecticut, those were some good episodes.

By the time the Connecticut episodes came , "Lucy" was coming to an end. Lucy and Desi were getting divorced and Desi did not have time to play Ricky Ricardo anymore. The move to Connecticut was an attempt at bringing a new premise to the show. It didn't last and was cancelled shortly after. I Love Lucy was brought back with a new title "Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour".

The Connecticut episodes don't seem rushed to me. I enjoy them like any other episodes.

I don't believe that I Love Lucy was cancelled. I think it was Lucy and Desi's choice to go to the longer but fewer episodes per season. I really like the Connecticut episodes also. Some really funny episodes. It was nice to see them in a much larger set.

Yes, they were thinking about doing the hour long format with infrequent episodes a few years or so even before season six began.

They were both becoming tired and bloated, especially Desi.

CBS absolutely wanted more 30 min episodes - the show was #1 in the ratings during its last (half hour) season. But yes, Lucy and Desi were tired. Back then, they were doing upwards of 40 episodes per season, so they were burning out at that pace.

The CT episodes freshened things up. Virtually all of them were quite good.

I would have liked to see more.

I also liked the Connecticut episodes !;) Esp. the BBQ one!! :D

Oh I see what you are saying! ;) Yeah , me too!! I'd love to have seen more eps. in that cool old farmhouse!!! :) Maybe they could have even got more out and about into the town of Connecticut they lived in!? ;)

I'm sure there were other crazy neighbors, plus I always thought connecticut has some cool scenery just so old colony type vibe to it.

It's sometimes too bad it's mostly an in-studio show. It would have been really funny to see Lucy zooming along a road on the lawnmower. Or mowing down Betty's roses, or a hedge.

Not really a fan of the Connecticut shows. They weren't bad, but something was a little off. But they were definitely preferable to the Lucy/Desi Comedy Hour, which was mostly bad, due to the reliance on guest stars. (An exception was the Danny Thomas episode, which is one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.)

What I am baffled about is why they moved to CT hallway through the season. That sounds like a move to start a new season with.

Season 6 started with Bob Hope, which was the first episode of a few years older Ricky. The 2nd episode was about Ricky and the 3rd was the Orson Welles episode. Then ILL had a mini-trip to Florida/Cuba and a few episodes centered around Ricky. It's once they were done, then the move to CT came. I also found the CT episodes rushed.

Back in the 50's not only did ILL have more episodes per season that a 70's show, during the ILL time frame Lucy & Desi also made 2 movies together.
