It's been done multiple times on the web, but I've never seen it here. Quite simple: for each US state select your favorite show that is set there.

Take your time, it's gonna take some time :p

Some minor rules:

If you haven't seen anything set in a State, simply leave it blank. It's also interesting to note which states are under-represented. Personally I get bored with shows set in NY and California, there are many beautiful places seldom explored by tv series.

The important is where the show is set, not filmed.

Shows set in fictional cities are ok, as long as the State is clear.
i.e. Buffy is set in Sunnydale, a fictional city in California.

Cartoons are OK (i.e. Gravity Falls is in Oregon, Futurama in NY, ecc)

Please keep it to fiction (no reality shows, games ecc)

I'm not a big "Family Ties" fan myself. It's... *okay* but was never anything special to me. I love Michael J. Fox though. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't watch it at all. And as for those three shows you mentioned as coming close to "Family Ties", quality-wise, I'd say all three of those surpass it.
