I recently discovered this song and am surprised it wasn't a bigger hit, it only reached #98 on Billboard. It has the sound of a hit and the lyrics are hysterical, typical Jim Stafford style of humor. The song was released only as a single, not part of an album, that might have been some of the problem, it's also possible that the record company did little or nothing to promote the song. Whatever happened is unfortunate because I think this deserved to be a much bigger hit.
In man/woman relationships, it's usually the woman who wants to take things slow, but this song tells the unusual tale of a man who freaks out whenever a woman makes advances.
Turn loose of my leg
I don't know you that well
Turn loose of my leg
In love with you I have not fell
I know what you want
Just forget it and remove your hand
Turn loose of my leg
I'm not that kind of man

I enjoy finding underappreciated songs like this, on my lists of favorite 1970's hits I included 10 songs that charted on the hot 100 but didn't make the top 40.
