If I could remove the channels that are useless to me and get ones I am missing out on.
most desired cable stations
TeenNick- an hour of Boy Meets World in primetime
Sundance- they have added a lot of classic shows like The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show, and M*A*S*H. Plus they still have Law and Order.
Logo- the ads are probably still terrible but they air a lot of Facts of Life and other classics.
Encore Black- commercial free episodes of Different Strokes. When I had the Encore channels one year Suspense was really good with Diagnosis Murder and The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, another year Classic was really good with Murphy Brown and Night Court. With all of those shows leaving they aren't quite the same.
Netflix- I hope to get this sometime soon, have not seen the new season of Gilmore Girls yet and am interested in Lemony Snickett, possibly Stranger Things (not if it is TVMA like a lot of their shows).
Hulu Plus- they probably have a good selection but I won''t pay for 2 streaming networks. The regular Hulu site used to be free, it is too bad they took that away.
Retronets- these need to be available without needing a local affiliate.
Me-TV is my most wanted station. I would also like Buzzr, LAFF for Night Court, Cozi with Frasier at a better time than Hallmark, and the station that airs a bunch of Deep Space Nine.
Stations I would gladly get rid of to get the above channels
all news stations- can't stand politics
OWN
HGTV
the multitude of sports stations
FX
Bounce- only good show they air is The Cosby Show, the retronets I listed above would be much preferred.
A&E
Lifetime- this station went downhill fast. They used to air some good shows like Frasier, Reba, and Less Than Perfect. Now absolutely nothing.
MTV
VH1
QVC and all other shopping channels
TLC- unless they bring back Outrageous 911 and Extreme Cheapskates
the Disney channels
weather channels
History
E!
Stations I like
Antenna TV- several good shows already on the lineup, plus many more still to join. Out of the 9 new/returning shows coming later this year the only one I am not interested in is Soap.
Hallmark Movies and Mysteries- an already great channel that will be adding The Rockford Files in a few days
GSN- still too much Harvey Feud but I like the Dick Clark Pyramid hour, Cash Cab, and The Chase.
UP- new episodes of Heartland, also 7th Heaven and Gilmore Girls. I wish they would give Touched by an Angel decent slots like it used to have.
WGN- lots of Blue Bloods and M*A*S*H
BBC America- plenty of Star Trek: Voyager and The Next Generation. They need to get Deep Space Nine since they are home to 3 other Star Treks.
ION- Blue Bloods all day on Thursdays. They need to bring Leverage back and give Psych a day. I like Law and Order but 4 days of its shows is too much. Criminal Minds can also have a day cut.
TCM- a rare network that actually hasn't strayed from its original purpose. A lot of good movies I hadn't seen before.
Hallmark (to an extent)- 2 hours of The Middle in primetime is nice. Totally removing Home Improvement was not cool though, especially since no other network airs it. Frasier and I Love Lucy are great shows but have terrible slots. Cheers is even worse, just 1 hour a day at 4AM despite 11 seasons. Hallmark needs to learn from its sister channel Movies and Mysteries, they give weekday shows Saturday or Sunday marathons.
INSP- only station that still airs The Waltons. They need to give The Jeff Foxworthy Show a decent slot. Bringing back Our House, Wind at My Back, and Christy would be nice instead of all the westerns.
Broadcast networks- new episodes of favorites like Designated Survivor, Blue Bloods, Once Upon a Time, The Middle, Scorpion, Timeless, and Superhuman.
My Network TV- I never saw The X-Files in its original run, so the repeats have all been new to me. I don't know why they skip so many of them though.
FXX- for the sole purpose of Mad About You. Its 7AM hour does not work for me but they put 5 different episodes on demand each week.
Discovery- I do not currently watch anything here but they will be airing new episodes of Cash Cab soon.
