If you live in one of eleven American states you will be able to witness a total solar eclipse on the above date. For UK members only 4% of the sun will be covered. http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/when-is-the-solar-eclipse-in-august-2017-date-time-and-how-to-watch-it-live-in-the-uk/ar-AAoyyxY?li=AAmiR2Z&ocid=spartanntp

I've been looking forward to it for over a year - I bought a 20-pack of the eclipse glasses to give to all my nieces and nephews so they'd be able to watch it.

I'm flying up to Tennessee on the 20th to view the eclipse, (Lost Sea Caverns is my selected observing spot) afterwards I'll descend upon Gatlinburg for some fun in the Smokies. This will be the fifth time I've traveled to the centerline of a solar eclipse (I saw Total Eclipses in 1991 and 1998 and Annular ("Ring of Fire") eclipses in 1994 and 2012. If all goes well I'll return home an "Eclipse Chase Ace" :D
