View Full Version : Your favorite UM names?
kayak 08-04-2017, 02:36 AM In your opinion, who on UM (besides Bob Bean and the Wackers) has the best name?
At the moment, I'm going to vote for Sheriff Lorance Lumpkin from the Norman Ladner segment.
PS - "Bob Bean and the Wackers" would make a pretty good band name.
crystaldawn 08-05-2017, 06:24 PM Dub Wackerhagen is pretty memorable.
freakbook 08-05-2017, 07:48 PM The Freedon. Misspelling, or was someone named Don in prison?

If you believe the white slavery theory, the name of the ship seems kind of sinister.
appleachian 08-05-2017, 08:12 PM Wallace Thrasher
freakbook 08-05-2017, 09:10 PM If you believe the white slavery theory, the name of the ship seems kind of sinister.
Very ironic. Like Kurt Mcfall.
zack007attack 08-05-2017, 11:19 PM Dub Wackerhagen is pretty memorable.
Any odd chance he might bear a relation to the Wackers?
RevengeTypeBurn 08-05-2017, 11:34 PM Gonna have to go with the Deputy in my avatar.
sharky888 08-06-2017, 12:44 AM Jack Weiner takes the cake for me. My ex and I still laugh about that to this day...
sdb4884 08-06-2017, 06:26 AM Pretty sure there is another thread about this but I always thought Riggs Gay was the best.
Dub Wackerhagen is pretty memorable.
Of the Thornville Wackerhagen's, of course. Yea, that's an "interesting" last name.
My pick would be Ozzie Kaban.
The names where the last name is already "unique", shall we say, and then they have a matching first name (or nickname) that almost eclipses the oddity of the last name. Those make an impression, for sure.
tsaun 08-07-2017, 03:48 AM Gonna have to go with the Deputy in my avatar.
Can't beat that
Corkys-Place 08-07-2017, 04:24 AM Even though it was an alias Liz Carmichael had a certain ring to it!
DazzlerSparkler 08-08-2017, 12:37 AM Lisette Nukida obviously. Just the way it rolls off the tongue.
Freakbook your comment about free don just reminds me of Free Brad from The Real World
Awsi Dooger 08-08-2017, 04:07 AM Al Catraz
tlc38tlc38 08-08-2017, 08:01 AM Teresita Basa
hostedbyrobertstack 08-08-2017, 03:54 PM Not so much a specific name, but I have found it odd of the random connections from one UM segment to the other...people will have the same last names. for instance, in one episode there was a "kirkpatrick" interviewed and then of course Tracy Kirkpatrick, and so on. This has happened many times from what I've watched.
Also, I had a fondness for the name "Kurt" as it is the name of a few of my favorite segments: McFall, Sova and Cobain. Wanted to name my son that, but my wife objected...I guess I shouldn't have told her the reason I wanted to name him that, ha!
soilentgreen 08-08-2017, 04:13 PM Candy Belt, D.C. Cole and Elmo Florence.
Robert Stack, Jr. 08-08-2017, 05:59 PM Second page of the thread and not one vote for Stryder Starfire yet?!

Todd Mueller 09-02-2017, 02:39 PM Jet Taylor (sweet 80s hair, too)

scarfish 09-02-2017, 04:08 PM i also liked sheri ysit i thought that was a unique last name
scarfish 09-02-2017, 04:11 PM alex graham was the most ostensible name (gregory barker) seeing as he worked at a phone company at time of arrest
SarcasticBella 09-04-2017, 08:37 AM I gotta go with Wadada
scarfish 09-08-2017, 02:42 PM i also liked sheri ysit i thought that was a unique last name
i found sheri ysit on FB and sent her a message! havent heard back yet
speaking of names, i always laughed at Rickie Ray, colleen campbell's boyfriend
what a redneck 101 level name
also Oneida Drawdy (sp*) from the Casie Nicole segment
cdr369 09-08-2017, 10:40 PM Kurt McFall, due to the irony.
crystaldawn 09-19-2017, 08:05 AM How about Midge and Tiger Freehling, the mother and son witnesses in the Donald Eugene Webb segment.
RobinW 09-19-2017, 09:06 AM Recently saw the segment about Wally Spencer and the underground river. Loved that they interviewed an engineer named R. Michael Turnipseed.
The Kook 07-04-2018, 12:39 PM This guy...
UMlover 07-08-2018, 07:09 PM Sorry it's immature, but Agnes Woodcock is a pretty hilarious name.
James T 07-21-2018, 03:20 AM Gail Loving Barnes.
charmedsignora 08-22-2018, 02:08 PM Jet Taylor couldn't possibly have been the guy's real name. It had to have been the work of a movie agent changing their client's name to something a lot zippier, like how Leroy Scherer became Rock Hudson. (Jet DID live in Hollywood, after all!)
MegtheEgg86 08-22-2018, 09:06 PM Guy Gypsum
Mike82 08-23-2018, 11:54 AM Hank Queen
Steven Starbucks
Is that REALLY the best alias they could come up with?
JohnUM 08-23-2018, 03:33 PM Very ironic. Like Kurt Mcfall.
This was always a favorite of mine...because of the way he died.
Also, Dwayne McCorkin.
charmedsignora 08-23-2018, 08:22 PM Steven Starbucks
Whose alias was this?

bip05 01-01-2019, 04:12 PM he deserves a place here
sdb4884 01-04-2019, 09:22 AM Riggs Gay is still my favorite. Wallace Thrasher for the enthusiasm of it.
EighthStreet 01-05-2019, 12:41 PM Mary Gillespie (of Circleville fame) is a name that pops up in my head every now and again.
yellowVWchase 01-05-2019, 02:22 PM he deserves a place here
Is this the guy who was chased by a Bigfoot?
ChandlerMurielB1 01-20-2019, 07:22 PM Wing Flanagan
yellowVWchase 01-30-2019, 05:20 PM Smiles Zepeda, the Las Vegas store owner who sells Liza Montgomery two rings.
I just read the whole thread and I say Richard Holder is the winner.
MegtheEgg86 03-16-2019, 02:17 PM J.D. Method. I don't know why I think it's so funny, but it's just like it sounds appropriate for both a slick car-lot-frequenting telephone dating service patron and a '90s smooth R&B artist.
sdb4884 03-17-2019, 08:34 AM My favorite used to be Wallace Thrasher. However I think my favorite now would be Riggs Gay from the Deborah Poe segment.
bip05 05-09-2019, 04:37 PM she also deserves a place here
StackTime 05-09-2019, 09:19 PM Jet Taylor couldn't possibly have been the guy's real name. It had to have been the work of a movie agent changing their client's name to something a lot zippier, like how Leroy Scherer became Rock Hudson. (Jet DID live in Hollywood, after all!)
You know, maybe his name really is J-O-H-N, but he changed it to J-O-N for show business. Well, you know, J-O-N is a lot zippier.
jbjr56 05-10-2019, 04:24 AM The stage name for rapper Lathan Williams - “Young Lay”. Cracked me up. He’s infamous for repeating “you know what I’m Saying” after each thought.
xxxxmattxxxx69 05-18-2019, 07:03 PM I like the Raymond "Beaver" Tempest name
1990 UM fan 05-18-2019, 09:38 PM Tyger Hogue
UnsolvedMysteriesGod 05-24-2019, 11:25 PM Craig Williamson and The Cokeville Elementary School , Oh just sir names ? ok, Craig Williamson AND Mary Morris and Mary Morris. ( wink wink)
ChandlerMurielB1 12-18-2020, 09:40 AM Allen Finegold, because he was Jewish (stereotype) and worked for a bank.
bell83 12-18-2020, 02:44 PM Allen Finegold, because he was Jewish (stereotype) and worked for a bank.
Could that name BE more of a stereotype? :D

bell83 12-18-2020, 02:48 PM Guy Gypsum. I don't mean to trample on someone else's writing, but I just feel like it's such a stereotypically hokey name for someone in the "great American novel." It always bothered me.
But no, for favorites? Kurt McFall (irony) and Teresita Basa (Teresita is just a pretty name to me) are the first ones I can think of.
WishfulDreamer 12-18-2020, 03:54 PM Rusty Corvette. How do you take that name seriously?
bell83 12-18-2020, 04:33 PM Rusty Corvette. How do you take that name seriously?
Wait, I don't remember that one! Which segment was that?
