For my fellow posters who may not have followed this case, Shayna Hubers is the young Kentucky woman who shot her "boyfriend" Ryan Poston to death, with his own handgun, in his own apartment in October of 2012. I put boyfriend in quotes, because apparently there was some debate as to whether or not they were truly dating. Poston had reportedly attempted to get Hubers out of his life many times in the months prior to his murder.
Hubers claimed self defense during her trial, whereas the prosecution took the position of a fatal attraction gone terribly wrong. While Hubers was ultimately convicted and sentenced to 40 years, thanks in part to many of her own statements made to LE on the night of the crime, she has now been granted a new trial. Her retrial is scheduled to begin in September of this year. Who knows? Maybe she'll talk herself into another conviction. One can only hope...
