For weeks, the Discovery Channel has promoted Olympic swimming legend Michael Phelps racing against a great white shark. The Discovery Channel is one of my favorite channels but one thing I've learned to avoid like the plague is their annual "Shark Week". Even though I love nature shows Shark Week is a supreme ripoff from beginning to end, with much promised and little delivered but hype. So, they had an hour show with Phelps racing this shark and evidently they had hype and commercials for the first 56 minutes of the show and then in the 57th minute Phelps raced....... a fake shark.
I stopped watching the Discovery Channel this week because they had a permanent Shark Week logo on the screen at all times, the best way get me to turn your channel off.
Here's a story about how outraged people were about being suckered into this fake shark race.
