If you enjoy participating and it's not hurting anything (which I can't see how it would be), keep at it. There are so few pleasures in life as it is; I wouldn't deprive myself of one harmless one if I were you.

It's so easy for online comments to be taken wrong. We don't see or hear the person, hear the tone, etc. Things can be misinterpreted.
