Ann tells Julie and Barbara that Ed was a damn good father because he gave them a good spanking when they needed it. Ann not alone beat them, she supported Ed in beating them too :( :( :(    A damn good father beats his kids?     Who do you think beat them the most, Ed or Ann?

Yes! He beat his children. Poor Julie and Barbara were little kids and we're beaten by their daddy and their mother supported the beatings :( :(   :D :( :(

I saw some fanfiction years ago with stories about Ann and Ed beating their kids.

Ed SPANKED them. He never BEAT them. Julie and Barbara adored Ed. They cheered when he came to the door. They loved their daddy and wanted to see him. They wouldn't have felt that way if he had ever abused them. They would have been fearful and resentful. I'm sure they didn't like getting spanked as little tots, but kids don't resent reasonable, loving discipline from parents. Ed would have never hurt them.

Ed and Ann seem like such mismatches.

I can't even imagine them in any kind of romantic relationship. He looked like he was her father!

How the heck did they even get together in the first place?

Yeah! I agree! Julie and Barbara were little kids in the 1960's, as was I! Kids did get lightly spanked or hit had they misbehaved! We did .;) It's just how it was back than! But it taught us to behave so we wouldn't get spanked! ;) Ann and Ed were I'm sure like my parents and other good parents back in the day!! Not horrible people and abusers. Just kids didn't "rule the roost" as much like they do now! Julie and Barbara loved Ann and Ed ,like I loved my Parents . Didn't grow up at all fearful and resentful, just Mom and Dad and if we were TOO out of hand well maybe we'd be hit,but not beaten never injured! Never scared of them!! :) ;)

Exactly right. I wonder who did most of the spanking, Ed or Ann? Ann complained that Ed took too much charge. I wonder if he handled most of the discipline. Ann seemed to agree with Ed's discipline. I wonder if he did most of the spanking?
