View Full Version : What is your age, gender, and history of watching this show?
counrfk 07-14-2017, 09:44 PM I hope I'm not posting too much. I'm just excited to discuss this show with other fans. I'm curious about everyone's age, gender, and history with the show. Also, which seasons are your favorites?
I am 37, born in November 1979. I am female. I first discovered this show in the early 1990s when I was in junior high. Although the show was still running when I was a little kid, I never watched it in its original run. I can't remember exactly how I started watching it, but I immediately liked it. I used to record it on vhs and watch it when I got home from school.
I prefer the early seasons when the girls were in high school and living with Ann. Seasons 1-4 are the best for me.
Alex Cooper 07-14-2017, 10:36 PM First, you're not posting too much; you're amongst fellow fans!:)
Thank you for sharing your One Day history:) ; mine is
I'm 18 (ok, 45), so I was young when the show originally aired. I must have watched it, 'cause I remember crushing on Valerie, though I can't recall specific episodes.
When I was in sixth grade, I vividly remember crushing on Glenn and remembering the episodes where Ann slaps Alex and Barbara pulls the dude's shirt off, for some reason:cool: :D
Then I may have seen the occasional daytime rerun, though I would say the show remained a force that shaped my youth. Then, when a local station reacquired Antenna TV in early 2016, I rewatched and was rehooked. Soon after, I found all of my friends here to continue the love!:)
Oh yeah and I'm male.

Lol, I feel like a teenager too when I watch this show. I still relate to Julie and Barbara in the early years. That's funny because I'm now 37, and they're in their late 50s now, lol.
Bonniegirl 07-14-2017, 11:05 PM I am 55! I watched ODAAT first run for one or two seasons Than on and off but I wouldn't say I watched it regularly ! Than it came on in reruns in the morning in the early 80's! I used to watch it if I had the day off of work, or called in sick ! ;)
Than when Antenna picked it up a couple years ago, I was like 'Oh ODAAT, cool, I'll give it a try"!;) Than I started posting on the ODAAT threads here on SO, met some great friends and was having a blast!! :) THAN when Season 5 rolled around and Max came on I was like WOW, he's HOT. :eyes: I remembered him from First run, but he didn't have the impact on me as he did when I was watching on Antenna all these years later!;) So, as time went on I REALLY developed my Love of Max and really started crushing on him big time!!
And I really do enjoy the show other than just watching for him! :D I get a kick out of it. I feel like the characters are like family.:) And Max of course being my fantasy, dream Husband!! :eyes:

So Bonniegirl, you're close to Julie and Barbara's ages. Neat. And, I'm assuming by your screen name that you're female, lol.

Yeah I'm close in age to Julie ( I'm 3 years younger) and Barbara (I'm 2 years younger) ! :) And I'm a female! :D
I could be the third Cooper girl! Julie and Barbara's little Sister!!:) I was raised by Ed and his wife Vicky though after he and Ann divorced! Therefore I didn't really KNOW Max as a Brother in Law because I didn't know him very well. Until big Sis Julie left him and Annie! I came to help out with the baby after that.:) And well one thing led to another and it was Love at first sight for Max and I!! :eyes: We fell in love , and he married the youngest Cooper girl, ME and we lived happily ever after! :)

I figured you were with the name Bonniegirl, haha.
Anna Karenina 07-15-2017, 01:32 PM I am twentynine ;) a woman and somehow have have been watching this show on and off for about forty years.
My first memory of it was when the girls were eating ice cream when Ann was gone.
I remember watching Julie's wedding in prime time on a Sunday evening in 1979 in my parent's bedroom.
My favorite character is Nick Handris. ;)
I am just kidding.
I generally like them all and don't have a particular favorite. They all bring something to the show.
I was not a fan of Ginny, she got on my nerves for the most part. Good singer though.
Speaking of singers.
Michael Lembeck was the most talented of all the singers on that show in my opinion. He had a twinkle in his eyes when he performed. He also was very sexy and personable. He gave the show new life when he appeared even if they wrote him in very awkwardly.
I also liked Boyd Gaines even though his character could be annoying as heck.
Schneider was hilarious and ridiculous at the same time.
Alex was adorable and memorable in his tenure on the show.
