Larry David, a 25-time Emmy nominee, is turning 70. His start in television was as a writer and performer on ABC’s live comedy series Fridays, following which he was briefly a writer for Saturday Night Live. In 1989 he and Jerry Seinfeld co-created a sitcom, starring and named for the latter. Following the huge success of Seinfeld, David created a one-hour special for HBO that led to the series Curb Your Enthusiasm, which David stars in and writes the stories for (the dialogue is largely improvised by David and the other actors). After a hiatus of several years, it is returning to HBO for a ninth season this October.

Aside from his Bernie Sanders impersonations, David has also written and starred in the play Fish in the Dark, which premiered on Broadway in February 2015.

Larry David turns 74 on Friday: Jeff Garlin suggests he may be getting the old for Curb Your Enthusiasm (https://decider.com/2021/06/29/jeff-garlin-curb-your-enthusiasm-ending-soon/)

In a recent interview (https://www.mediaite.com/entertainment/curb-your-enthusiasms-jeff-garlin-dishes-on-how-many-more-seasons-larry-david-might-do/) with The Tim Dillon Show podcast, Garlin expressed skepticism when asked how long Curb could go on past its already-filmed 11th season. “I think we could maybe do one more, maybe,” he said. “You know, Larry is in his seventies. Don’t get me wrong, he’s in good shape.” Garlin also pointed out that he's much younger than David and even he struggles to juggle to comedies. “I do both The Goldbergs and Curb; I’m fifty-f***ing-nine,” he said. “It is exhausting. It rips me apart.”
