The Facts of Life was a spin-off of Diff’rent Strokes that aired for nine seasons from 1979 to 1988. Although it wasn’t a hit with viewers during its first season on air, after a major revamp during season two, the show immediately saw an increase in ratings and, by its third season, it was NBC’s highest rated comedy series. Since the show is one of the definitive sitcoms of the ‘80s, check out these 10 things (http://www.fame10.com/entertainment/10-things-you-didnt-know-about-the-facts-of-life/2/) you didn’t know (http://www.fame10.com/entertainment/10-things-you-didnt-know-about-the-facts-of-life/3/) about The Facts of Life (http://www.fame10.com/entertainment/10-things-you-didnt-know-about-the-facts-of-life/4/):

Most of these are long time known Facts Of Life facts. I wish these "Things You Didn't Know" lists would actually live up to their titles.

I wish they were banned from being posted here. The idiots that write this crap obviously think they're the only ones who know this stuff. If they were titled something like Ten Things You May Not Know About.... then it would be better.

Did not know Welcome Back, Kotter was the inspiration for the show or that George Clooney tried to sabotage the show...INTERESTING. The others I knew about though.

Same here. And they were incorrect about something on their first point:

"The Show Welcome Back, Kotter was said to be the inspiration. Initially, the setting of the school was going to be the school where Kimberly Drummond (Dana Plato) from Diff’rent Strokes attended, but producers decided to keep Plato on Diff’rent Strokes and there was never any mention of Kimberly being a student at Eastland again."

The setting of the school was still the same school Kimberly attended. She was just never shown there on the series (on the spinoff pilot, yes, but that was a DS episode). And besides, Blair and Natalie and Tootie guest starred on DS during the time of FOL, so it was still clear that was Kimberly's school.

Dana was in the Rough Housing episode.

I take that back, you're right. Her one appearance in the pilot was her swansong for the series, lol. And with that, that makes the articles quote even more wrong than I initially thought!

Also, it's been a while since I've watched the series, and when I think of "Rough Housing", I never think of Kimberly as being in it (obviously); I think of Mr. Drummond wanting Mrs. Garrett back, and the boys and the pig, and Tod Bridges knocking over the punch in a blooper at the show's end during the credits and applause, but I never think of Kimberly being there.

And Molly and Cindy where on DS, too. And why have Arnold and Willis come out to Eastland, if Kimberly was no longer there? So it seems as though Kimberly was attending Eastland up until she transferred to public school, which was in October 1982 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0559992/?ref_=ttep_ep2).

Of course, "The Slumber Party"! How could I forget?? (and wow, Willis was really obnoxious and unreasonable in that one)
