Are you for or against recasting a character in sitcoms. I don't mean like what they did in Three's company by casting mr. furly I mean recasting a character like Becky in Roseanne and Darin in Bewitched.

I'm for recasting in certain cases. Darrin had to be recast because Samantha had to have a husband. It was also wise to recast Gladys Kravitz. The character was so well-developed and would've been sorely missed.
On Cheers, I was glad they didn't recast the role of Coach or Diane. It was best to create new cast members.
Recasting isn't always successful. There was a show called, Alias Smith and Jones, back in the late 60s. The actor Peter Duel killed himself, and his role was recast and the show ended in no time.
Each circumstance is unique and has its own set of issues to consider.

Most of the time I'm against it. You get used to one actor, then boom, he/she looks, sounds, acts different. But I did like the second Darrin better.

don't feel offensed when I say that i'm not taking the pole. It doesn't really matter if the person is recast, but they have to look A LOT alike! The best way to recast someone, is to get there twin! haha
