I read this some where that The Flinstones and The Simpsons are the only cartoons in Television history to get a large number of adult audiences. Is this true?

Is this true? Steve Carras 09-05-2002, 02:37 AM Well, those and these: Crusader Rabbit-the first TV cartoon Gerald McBoing Boing Rocky and Bullwinkle Yogi bear Top Cat Jetsons Johnny Quest Mr.Magoo Famous Adventures, though most of it was a mistake to cast Jim Backsus lovable old coot in these roles...I mean come on! Magoo as Genghis KAHN!! Seriously?? If he tried to make a Mongolian barbecue...I shudder to think..shoe polish and sholeaces.....Gerald McBoing Boing (he was UPA as well) and the stereotypical Chinese houseboy would sue for stomach cramps!(yeah I know this was the serious version) ANd many MTV cartoons have an adult audeince..come to thionk many HB and Ward carotons of the 60s were very adult oriented! |
