Hey guys, for those of you that missed it
Texas Born Scott Pelley has signed off the CBS Evening News after 6 years, but he will still be on 60 Minutes
Here's the Video Clip from this past Friday

I think Pelley did a decent enough job anchoring that newscast, but the networks only care about the ratings. If the numbers aren't good enough, out you go. If Anthony Mason doesn't bring in the numbers, he'll be gone too.

I like Scott Pelley, but John Roberts was in line for the anchor's chair until he was backstabbed by CBS.

John Roberts wasn't liberal enough to have that much power at CBS.
Pelley, on the other hand is insanely liberal - which is why he got the job - but couldn't get ratings.

I agree Pelley is liberal, but aside from that I think he's a good anchorman, he speaks in an eloquent way and is professional. I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually ditches CBS and latches on with another network.
I'm skeptical if the ratings will be any better with Anthony Mason. And whenever I hear the name Anthony Mason, right away I think of the guy who used to play power forward in the NBA for the Knicks, Hornets, Heat, and Bucks.

Liberal or not he was supposed to replace Dan Rather, but got passed over for Katie Couric.

I agree, I don't care if somebody is Liberal or not, as long as they are professionals and report the truth
Scott Pelley is a good anchorman and I saw him visit a Local CBS Station in Austin, TX and they say that he is a class act and a gracious man
Scott Pelley had to deal with competition from David Muir and Lester Holt
Report: CBS is considering replacing CBS Evening News anchor Jeff Glor after just six months (https://pagesix.com/2018/05/31/cbs-may-boot-jeff-glor-from-evening-news/)
Glor, who was largely unknown when he replaced Scott Pelley (https://www.tvtattle.com/item/CBS-Evening-News-names-Jeff-Glor-as-anchor-LaSWWx) last December, has lost 1.5 million viewers in the six months since his debut. According to Page Six, CBS News bosses "are already thinking about replacing him" if the ratings trend doesn't reverse.
