Notice how in the early episodes June pronounces every syllable and doesn't sound natural. As the show proceeds she becomes more relaxed and sounds much more natural. Hugh is so funny in the early seasons too bad he got so stiff and formal.

Hugh gradually goes from very fallible to supposedly infallible.

And I nearly fell out of my chair when they embraced in an early episode.

Barbara used that upper-class "transatlantic" accent in the early episodes, then gradually switched to her natural California accent.

Even Ward's dress got more formal in the later seasons. After Season 3 you rarely saw him in a polo shirt or sweatshirt around the house, almost always in a coat and tie.
