It's weird because there are many other shows that are better and have a larger fanbase , yet "One Day At A Time" seems to be worshipped on the forums.

Why is that so?

I wouldn't say that. There are a few people here that are obsessed with certain members of the cast. I agree with some more than others. :D

It doesn't strike me that way. There's a sizable group of fans who post in some of that board's chat threads but that's far from a site-wide "obsession".

Though I wouldn't mind if other shows built up enough of a fanbase to have their own chat threads too.

Yeah I like the show and I also have a BIG crush on one of the stars!:):eyes: And I made really good friends on the ODAAT forums with other fans of the show that are big fans of certain stars!:) And we happen to post a lot! We have fun!:D Along with posting about the show and the cast members we like and other shows and movies they have been in , we chat personally and post plenty of pictures of the stars too! :)

Like for instance, this pic was made up off the TV specially for me from one of my Friends on the ODAAT threads!:) I have three wonderful friends there that make me up pics of this guy right from the TV or Youtube because I don't know how to do it , and they know I love him !;)

ODAAT has a lot of posts (checking the count), but no more than many other popular sitcoms. This is a sitcoms site, right?

I would think someone in their 90's would have more important things to worry about.

Yep!!! ;) Like the Leave it to Beaver threads get lots of posts! ;) And lately My Three Sons since METV brought it back and esp. since they are showing the rare old Black & White eps! :) Also Alice has been getting a lot of activity lately due to LOGO showing it, and fans (such as myself) watching it again! :)

So it isn't just ODAAT threads ! ;)

I guess a lot of people like the show. So what? I liked it (usually) but that doesn't make me obsessed with it.

Well, the Lucy forum will go days without a new post in it. I think it's great i wish more shows had the kind of following ODAAT does on here.

You could join ours. All you need is a $50 entry fee and to swear your undying loyalty to Valerie Bertinelli.

And we can waive the fee...

Thank you for the offer. :) ;) But the reason I've been more or less avoiding it is simply because I've never seen the show and I probably wouldn't have much to discuss.

I do not think people on Sitcomsonline are obsessed with One Day at a Time; it is just the most popular thread at the moment, which is a good thing.

I think the fact that the show was out of syndication for so long heightened the interest for a lot of people. Maybe it reminds them of their youth.

I am not so much obsessed with the show but the funny people here who talk about it in great detail. I enjoy reading their insights/snark. The show itself I watched through 4 whole Antenna TV cycles. As Ethel Mertz said once, "I have sufficient." Like any show you need a breather sometimes so it is fresh to you again. :) I don't really watch it on LOGO because I always forget the channel number. When I randomly go around the dial and land on "Alice" I get a kick out of it because it was off the air for so long. Funnier than I remember.

I wonder if any of the remaining co stars or guest stars ever read this forum? :D ;) I wouldn't be surprised because when you google minutiae about the show this site pops up fairly frequently...

One Day at a Time was basically Good Times for white people.

Most heterosexual men love Valarie Bertinelli. Probably she is the girl next door type, the chick from the rock concert, someone you went to high school with, the beauty who wasnt stuck up and just a regular person instead of being a cheerleader, a snob or a serial killer.

I haven't noticed which TV show gets addressed the most in one way or other.

I would have thought it was I Love Lucy since it is reportedly the most famous sitcom in the history of TV.

If One Day At A Time is the most referenced or addressed sitcom on this site, then it would be interesting to know why.
It is easy to conclude that there are just a lot of fans of the show on this site, but that may not be the answer.

If we only knew of the age range of most people who comment on ODAAT or maybe their gender or other type of statistics on them.
I'll have to think about this.

It makes me wonder which TV show is the least discussed or referred to. I guess it is a tie between a lot of them.

In my case I was obsessed with seeing 10 years ago because it was never on cable. Then once it landed on Antenna TV I wasn't that impressed .

Unfortunately she is the only good part of the show, I didn't like any of the other characters. Especially Schneider, creeps like him are the reason women get restraining orders. Unless you are Ann, she is dumb enough to keep letting Schneider in and not reporting him to the landlord. Speaking of Good Times, I can't stand that show at all.

In ODAAT, Valerie Bertinelli has the most beautiful, thick, long hair.

As far as other characters, I've always liked Shelley Fabares. Francine was a great part for her, as it's totally different from her Donna Reed role.
