View Full Version : [Spoilers] What TV episode made you quit a show? TMC 06-10-2017, 08:38 PM Have you ever watched a TV episode that it was so bad or you had some negative view of it that you decided to drop the show in that moment? If that's the case, what episode is and why you dropped it. Babalu 06-11-2017, 07:41 AM I was a sometimes Seinfeld watcher, but the episode where they spent the entire show looking for their car in a parking lot was so awful I stopped watching. I can't believe some people consider that their favorite episode. Sometimes I'll watch a few minutes in reruns. The good thing about Seinfeld is that you can watch 5 minutes and turn it off, not feeling like you're missing something. jimpickens 06-13-2017, 03:11 AM Happy Days after the shark show that did it for me MrCleveland 06-13-2017, 06:33 AM When The Simpsons had the episode "Blame it on Lisa". Not because Riotour disliked the ep or a few Cariocas (people of Rio de Janerio) hated it as well since it showed many stereotypes...but it was a copy of "Bart vs. Australia"! The Australians hated that ep as well, but instead of Bart getting in trouble, it was Lisa...but she did it for a good cause. That...and there was no recognition of hidden gem culture unlike other Simpsons shows! Why wasn't there mention of Jose Carioca? It would be a good Easter Egg!... http://www.weatherfish.com/_Media/sa_donald_jose-3.jpeg And Season 15 of Family Guy was unfunny! The season had more Peter Griffin episodes than Stewie and Brian episodes! There wasn't even a "Road to ________" episode! And with Adam West gone...I won't watch any ep until May of 2018! Bronson 06-13-2017, 08:36 AM For me, I stopped watching the Cosby Show when the male bashing got too much. That episode where Denise and Sondra decided to be ridiculous over strippers at a bachelor party that Denise told her husband to have. Seh and Sondra were idiots and it got worst when Sondra made a rude comment to her husband Alvin. Cliff and Claire came in and wisely did not get into their conversation as stupid as it was. What made me stopped was that episode of the men being pregnant. Within five minutes I turned the channel and never went back to it. principehomura 06-13-2017, 11:19 AM Lol, there are so many after the pilot. Last example: Fargo. 70s show watcher 06-13-2017, 07:19 PM For me, I stopped watching the Cosby Show when the male bashing got too much. But I stopped watching E/R after they killed off the character of Dr. Mark Green, he was about my favorite character on the show and it just wasn't worth watching after that. He died from brain cancer. Ed. andress_jade 06-15-2017, 08:13 PM I was a big fan of the Simpsons when I was younger, I watched it religiously but the one episode that made me stop watching it altogether was a Christmas episode. Me being a Christian, was very offended by what Bart said. "Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Santa Claus." After that episode I never went back. Babalu 06-16-2017, 06:04 PM For me, I stopped watching the Cosby Show when the male bashing got too much. Funny, that's what stopped me watching TV altogether. Mace Dolex 06-16-2017, 09:27 PM The Cosby Show - I probably lost interest when little Olivia was added to the show. Kevin Can Wait - first episode 2 Broke Girls - probably during the second season The Great Indoors - second episode Powerless - first episode MrCleveland 06-21-2017, 02:55 PM I was a big fan of the Simpsons when I was younger, I watched it religiously but the one episode that made me stop watching it altogether was a Christmas episode. Well...I stopped The Simpsons after Season 13...you have more strength than I...and I don't care for "Simpson Bible Stories"...which came-out in Season 10. um 06-25-2017, 09:04 PM For me, I stopped watching the Cosby Show when the male bashing got too much. It seems to have had some really absurd episodes. Mr. Television 06-25-2017, 09:06 PM Not a sitcom. But I stopped watching E/R after they killed off the character of Dr. Mark Green, he was about my favorite character on the show and it just wasn't worth watching after that. He died from brain cancer. Ed. I stopped watching about a year after that. It wasn't the same show any more. um 06-25-2017, 09:09 PM I was a big fan of the Simpsons when I was younger, I watched it religiously but the one episode that made me stop watching it altogether was a Christmas episode. This reminds me of another thread in which someone says that the Lucille Ball character is selfish, spoiled, whiny , demanding and unlikable. It is taking the context of show out of context. who8mycookie 06-26-2017, 03:55 AM The Cosby Show - Don't know the episode title. It was the one where Rudy (or maybe it was Olivia) had a dream. In it Olivia was a spoiled brat and painted some kiddy mural on the living room wall and got all they attention. It was my excuse I guess to tune out on the show since I did not like the addition of Olivia, Rudy was bratty, and the older kids were all leaving, I was starting to lose interest anyways. Roseanne - The episode when Roseanne gave birth to the last kid Jerry. um 06-26-2017, 04:07 AM The Cosby Show - Don't know the episode title. I never watched Cosby , but what you describe sounds typical of a show Jumping the Shark, new characters added especially if they are children or teens, old characters leaving or changing dramatically from the characters they used to be, especially if they were kids or teens, and the set-up of the household and regular characters' relationships with other regular characters changing. um 07-02-2017, 08:45 PM Happy Days after the shark show that did it for me Of course that was such a famous episode for being the one that signified the decline of the show that it became the metaphor for all shows that reach that point of having nowhere else to go plot-wise and creative-wise, so they have "Jumped The Shark." I actually never saw that episode myself. I only heard about it. Apparently a lot of people were united in thinking it was a stink-o episode. I think I heard that Fonzie was practicing to water ski at home and to pretend that it was real, he used a toy plastic shark. What was the actual plot of the entire episode? Was he trying to impress a girl? Did his friends dare him to take up water skiing ? visaman666 07-02-2017, 09:44 PM It was a 2 part episode. Fonzie got the chance to do a screen test in Hollywood, so the whole gang went with him, but when they got there, Ritchie got the screen test instead, and Fonzie was challenged to waterski by a preppy nerd. A shark was sighted so the competion was off, but Fonzie went ahead of it anyways. Ritchie declined the movie contract, but later used his connections to become a screenwriter after he left the Army. There was one funny line. Ritchie said to Fonzie, " If you get your legs bitten off, dont come running to me bucko!" Yong Fang 07-05-2017, 10:04 PM The Middle-The kids grew up. Even Brick is in high school now. Modern Family-Got too snarky and pretentious, also, the kids grew up. Jamey Greek 07-10-2017, 10:51 PM LA Law because of the episode Lie Harder. It totally broke my heart seeing that young boy being returned to the state by his adopted parents. What's really worse is Family Guy's take on the Bible. Where Jesus rebelled against Joseph and called his father asking if he would come live with him and God in bed with a woman. Also The Newlywed Game parody of Joseph and Mary. It even offended Bob Eubanks so much that he figured out what was going on and he took his money back. He chose not to be associated with the episode Tubehead 07-11-2017, 02:04 AM ones i quite are the walking dead supernatural the office Parks and Recreation seinfeld friends how i met your mother ones i quite on cartoons : all the cartoons on cartoon network i do like ben 10!! pokemon star wars rebel classic shows i quite are: the nanny mash the cobsy show married with children |
