I just started watching Benson again because it is always on when I am heading to work. I have noticed that they have recently started playing edited versions of the season 1 episodes, the theme is the annoying 30 second soundbite that is specifically used for syndicated episodes.

Since I have no time to really investigate, I have assumed that the episodes are edited based on the theme.


It really doesn't matter to me that much because I recorded the show back when seasons 1-3 were being aired unedited. Even a few season 4 episodes were unedited at that time.

It still is a bit frustrating simply because there are new fans of the show who won't get to see the unaltered first 3 seasons, since only 2 of them have been released to DVD. This also sucks for those die hard fans looking to record DVD sets of the show.

It must have been a price they paid for acquiring new and rare classics such as Silver Spoons.
